Nature protection by the Government My name is Erika, i‘m student b and i‘m going to speak about „Nature Protection by the Goverment“. Just recently some people were asked their opinion about government position in nation protection. In question does the government pay enough attention to the protection of nature even 60 percent people say no, less people 37 percent say it’s everybody duty to protect nature. Only 2 percent of all asked people say yes, the government pay enough attention to the protection of nature and 1 percent people say that they don’t care about it. I believe that I belong to those 37 percent who say it’s everybody duty to protect it. There are many serious nature problems in our country. Deforestation is one of the most important unsolved problems in Lithuania. Moreover air pollution in cities during traffic jam or littering also damage nature. So why is it so difficult for the government to stop the damage done to the nature? Because too many people don’t pay enough attention to environment problems and others don’t have enough information about nature protection. I believe that is really important to live in clean area, because it is good for your health. And nowadays there are some green actions such as “Darom” or trash recycling programs. I have participated in “Darom” action. It helps because many people went to the streets ant pick up the trashes and clean our environment. In conclusion I like to say that nature protection is first of all our problem not the government.

World water day My name is Erika, i‘m student b and i‘m going to speak about „World water day“. As all of you know the worl water day is celabrated on march 22. This fest is focusing attention on the importance of fresh water, because many countries nowadays have a limited resources of it. So what are the major water-related problems in Lithuania? Well in my point of view the bigest water-related problems in Lithuania is that people do

There is one Earth. All people who live on it have to share it, not only with those living today, but with those in centuries to come. What is done today will manifest itself tomorrow, affecting someone, somewhere. Many don’t think about their actions because what they do might not affect them in their own lifetime. As Pope Francis said, “We received this world as an inheritance from past generations, but also as a loan from future generations, to whom we will have to return it!” It is easy to harm the environment because many are ignorant of the consequences of their actions, which have become very routine. Changes in the individual mindset can put into motion a chain reaction. One person can influence many others, and one small change can make a big difference. There have been many figures throughout history that have been great examples of how important it is to respond to the call the Pope has made for environmental action and protection. Some influential activists have been Julia Hill and Wangari Maathai, both being very inspiring through their actions. People should heed…
