Essay About Field Experience

I cannot believe how quickly October has come and that I am in the middle of my internship. My internship with Morgan State University’s Athletic Marketing Department has been a wonderful experience and I would recommend doing an internship with the department to any interested MSU student, looking to get some real field experience. I was able to implement what I have learned in the classroom to my internship, as well as mentor with, and assist the director, Mr. Robert Anderson, directly. This has truly been an awesome and rewarding experience. In addition to my office and game day assignments, I have the opportunity to meet with different company representatives who exclusively speak and seek student athletes.
My experience in the marketing
department definitely follows the MSU motto of “Growing The Future. Leading The World.” Fall semester has been a very stressful time with meeting the demand and deadline of serval courses, groups, and my internship. However, Mr. Anderson understands the importance of relaxation after hard work. And, there are plenty opportunities to have fun working with MSU’s Benny’s Cub Club and the football games. Which our football team has won our last home game against Delaware State. I have had the opportunity to meet many more MSU faculty, staff, and alumni, which is also another awesome experience. These fun learning opportunities have made my internship experience even better. My favorite event with the marketing department thus far has been the “Meet Target” event, where I learned a lot about the company. Mr. Anderson brought pizza and I was able to take a whole box to myself home.
One of my other favorite things about the marketing department is that Mr. Anderson is very knowledgeable, shares information, shares responsibility, and shows care for all of the interns. I am really looking forward to what the rest of the semester hold for me in the marketing department.
