Essay For Nursing Scholarship

I was born and raised in Chelan, I have two older sisters and one younger brother. We live on an orchard that my dad manages in Orondo Washington and my mom works as a housekeeper at Campbell's Resort. I have attended school in Chelan since kindergarten and I am now a senior in high school. My goal is to become a registered nurse then go on and get into obstetric nursing. I became interested in nursing when my sister was diagnosed with a rare disease and ended up at Seattle Children's for two months. As my family learned to navigate the medial maze, I learned to love it and became fascinated everyday. I realized one day I wanted to be the one to help those who need it.

I believe that I have the motivation to do great things someday. Although
like many I do not have a picture perfect life, I have never let that get in the way of following my dream. I enjoy pushing forward and completing any challenge I am faced with. I am determined regardless of my situation. However, because of some challenges I have been faced with I have learned to become very self driven. I like to stay organized and make sure things are done correctly. I am open minded and enjoy working with new people and getting a taste of the vast diversity of our world. For the time being my main focus is my education, so that I am able to be the nurse I have dreamed of being.
