identify myself with. I have always been interested in the medical field but not sure which direction I wanted to go. Getting the job at The Community Health Center of Branch County has been the best thing to happen to me. I had found my passion, my purpose in life. It has opened my eyes in so many ways and what nursing is truly about. Being a Nursing Assistant has taught me hard work, both physically and emotionally, time management, plan of car, prioritizing, assessment skills along with technical skills. Nursing is a challenging job but knowing you can touch someone’s life and knowing that everyday my own life is being touched, it’s worth every second. After a few sicknesses in my own family it really hits home on what a nurse is. I cannot wait to begin this amazing journey. Walking out of CHC after a twelve hour shift knowing I made a difference puts the smile on my face every day. Some days there are no words great enough to describe my feeling that I get from helping people. Making a difference is all I want out of life. There are so many different fields to nursing, I would love to continue my education even further than my RN license and go for by BSN and perhaps specialize in cardiovascular.
I hope to start my nursing education here at Glen Oaks where the campus is small but very efficient and has an outstanding student to professional rate. I have had the opportunity to see Glen Oaks Nursing Students first had perform their clinical work at CHC. They are very much prepared for their NCLEX, very professional group of students, have great work ethics and attitudes. There is no doubt in my mind that I can become a nurse with the help of Glen Oaks Community
College.
