Crops can be increased more resistances such as Pest resistance, Herbicide tolerance, Disease resistance and so on. For example, crops be modified that can increase pests resistance that prevent the loss from insect pests than the others, become more resistant to the unexpected problems of disease, by increasing pests and disease resistances that leads famers would limited the use many tons of chemical pesticides annually. It decreases potential health hazards, diseases to consumers by using pesticides in food. Besides, it helps protect environment, water supply from pesticides and fertilizers.
Through the modification of foods, we will have better tasting foods. Such as the flavors can be enhanced. Peppers can become spicier or sweeter. Corn can become sweeter. Difficult flavors can become more palatable. which could encourage people to eat more healthy foods.
On the other hand, genetic modification crops could lead allergens and toxins to food. There is a possibility that introducing a gene into a plant may create a new allergen or cause an allergic reaction in susceptible individuals.
Furthermore, genetic modification could Reduce Species Diversity. Genes introduced to make crops toxic to specific insect pests may kill other, beneficial insects, with effects on animals further up the food chain. This could lead to a reduction in the diversity of wildlife in affected areas and possibly even to the extinction of vulnerable
