Eating a healthy, balanced diet provides nutrients to the body which give energy and keep the heart beating, the brain active and your muscles working.
Our bodies used to be accustomed to living in a natural organic environment and now we are living in the process way of life. Our treatment to the environment is not only making us sick, it’s also working toward making us extinct.
My best friend Martee 62 years has all sort of health conditions (I think she likes to tell people that she had to go to the doctor office) I called her a walking pharmacy. I think it’s due to the unhealthy eating habit. She eats too many fast, cans food and TV diners. I think that she is suffering from malnutrition (undernourished) also because she is not eating a well balance food and taking to many medications that are depleting her of nutrients and in the state of Florida there are a lot of malnutrition/dehydration in the nursing home.(forthepeople)
Obesity is health condition of anyone significantly above his/her ideal healthy weight. It’s a leading cause of United States mortality, disability, healthcare and today 69% of U.S. adult are categorized as being affected by obesity.
Genetic modified crops (GMC) are plants used in agriculture, the DNA of which has been modified using genetic engineering techniques. One short term impact is food allergies and long term is possible agricultural impacts of herbicide tolerant crops.
Pesticides increase food production, decrease cost of food and the consumers get high quality food without insect damages.
I would recommend for my friend to do crop rotation to help prvent pests from getting used to the type of plant that is being cultivated and by plating different species of crops each growing season that will promotes soil fertility. Research from Canada has successfully identified the presence of pesticides associated with genetically modified foods in maternal, fetal and non-pregnant women’s blood. I do not like to know that our

How would you feel if I told you that the food you're eating was made in a science lab? Genetically modified organisms, or GMOs, are the outcome of a laboratory process where genes from the DNA of one species are extracted and artificially manipulated into the genes of an uncorrelated plant or animal. Crops are often genetically modified to be resistant to pesticides so farmers would be able to spray them without harming the crop itself. However, there are many consequences regarding consumers’ health and environmental problems. Many people question the safety of consuming genetically modified organisms. Companies should acknowledge that their product is genetically modified by placing a label on the product because customers have a right to know. Furthermore, there are several serious health complications that may rise to the consumer. And finally, genetically modifying organisms should be limited by being placed in a controlled environment to prevent contamination with other species because it can be harmful to the environment in several ways.…

In the last two decades, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of people who are obese. “More than one-third of U.S. adults (35.7%) and approximately 17% (or 12.5 million) of children and adolescents aged 2—19 years are obese.” (CDC, 2013) There are many factors of obesity that can be controlled and some factors that can not be controlled. Obesity has gotten so out-of-hand that even the government has stepped in to help lower the…

Canadian Research has shown that pesticides have been found in maternal and fetal blood in women, thus showing that the fetus can be affected by a xenobiotic, a chemical not produced naturally. The genetic make-up from the GMOs can possibly be transferred to human beings, sometimes linked with cancer. New IRT studies display how GMOs are related to gluten disorders in almost 20 million people, causing severe indigestion, bacteria buildup, and allergic reactions. An EU study in 2002 had released the results that say glyphosate has produced birth malfunctions, but in Germany, their results concluded that glyphosate did not produce birth defects. Another study came from the U.S which stated that glyphosate can produce…

What is the true definition of Obesity? According to the Mayoclinic, “Obesity is a complex disorder involving an excessive amount of body fat”. There is insufficient research on their long term effect on humans, to make a judgment on whether or not they are safe. The U.S. and Canadian governments, though, have approved GMOs based on studies conducted by the same corporations that created them and profit from their sale. Genetically modified foods have been linked to toxic and allergic reactions, sick, sterile, and dead livestock, and damage to virtually every organ studied in lab animals. The effects on humans of consuming these new combinations of proteins produced in GMOs are unknown and have not been studied. In one experiment, multiple generations of hamsters were fed a diet of GM soy; by the third generation, they were losing the ability to produce offspring, producing about half as many pups as the non-GM soy group. FDA scientists had repeatedly warned that GM foods can create unpredictable, hard-to-detect side effects, including allergies, toxins, new diseases, and nutritional problems. They urged long-term safety studies but they were ignored. Today the market is filled with 75% of genetically modified foods, that we are uncertain of their safety.…

Grocery shopping is an overwhelming experience, especially when consumers are not aware of what is in their food and what the food will do to their bodies. It is estimated that nearly 70% of all foods at the grocery store contain Genetically Modified Organisms (Odyssey). Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) may be hidden in a variety of routinely purchased foods. While GMOs may be cheaper in price, the real cost comes in the form of consequences to the environment and human health. While many countries and even individual states within the U.S. have acknowledged their danger, the country as a whole has yet to place any restrictions on GMOs. Genetically modified organisms contribute to a variety of health-related issues such as allergic reactions…

Genetically modified crops (GMCs, GM crops, or biotech crops) are plants, the DNA of which has been modified using genetic engineering techniques. In most cases the aim is to introduce a new trait to the plant which does not occur naturally in the species. Examples include resistance to certain pests, diseases, or environmental conditions, or resistance to chemical treatments (e.g. resistance to a herbicide), or the production of a certain nutrient or pharmaceutical agent.…

Organic food can be a hazard to human’s health. There are three natural chemical’s contained in some organically grown foods that can cause a risk of cancer to people. DDT, DDE, or Alar, these are 3 pesticides that are banned in the U.S. and other countries (Silver, 2006). Rotenone is a neurotoxin that is used by organic farmers that has been known to be used to kill fish and it has been linked to Parkinson’s disease. Another pesticide used by organic farmers, pyrenthrin, it is known to be used on the day crops are being harvested, can result in breathing problems when it is inhaled (Silver, 2006). In 1989 it was reported that dozens of Americans died and several thousand were impaired by a genetically modified food supplement known as L-trptophan and it created an ailment known as (EMS) eosinophilia myalgia syndrome. The GMO was released without being tested. A settlement of 2 billion dollars was paid out by the manufacturer (Batalion ND, 2009).…
