A biblical worldview, is a worldview based on the bible and the belief that the bible is divinely inspired and thus the words that are written in the bible are one-hundred percent true. Some of the basic elements that make up a biblical worldview include, the belief that the world did not start from a random “big bang” and is not millions of years old, but rather, it was created by a loving and just God in only seven days. Because humans are created by a God, it is He who sets the moral standards by which all humans are subject to, whether those moral standards are acknowledged or not. Some other components to a biblical worldview are, that humans are created in God’s image and as a result, every person has intrinsic value, that humans were given dominion over all the earth and its creatures and that as a human there is a responsibility to take care of the planet, Adam and Eve were the first humans created and that they disobeyed God causing sin to enter into the world. Before, my understanding was very general and I really didn’t understand the foundations of a biblical world view or the specifics, but now I have a better understanding of what specially in the bible contributes to a biblical worldview. For example, I really never considered that since we are created by God we have moral absolutes, where as those who don’t believe in God really have nothing to base their moral values on.
