older students. With one concussion, it could lead to behavioral mood changes as in, personality and mood changes. Personality and mood changes consist of depression, and emotional pain. With a dramatic or a hasty change of personality and mood changes could leave an impact on an athlete's lifestyle. In particular, if All though athletes should be required to sit out for a long periods of time, there are improvements that could prevent an athlete to get a head trauma or minimize the effects of head traumas.
For instance, there has been a major rise of technological repairs on helmets that reduce the amount of injuries and secure the athlete's cranium off from severe head damages such as, shock and coordination of the brain. In excerpt “Heads Up: Concussions in High School Sports” it specifically states that, "Approximately 10% of athletes take more than 7 days to recover from the effects of a concussion." Alternatively, if the concussion isn't taken care properly, it may lead to permanent consequences, such as long term concussions. Long term head concussions may last up form many months or even years. Long term head traumas can include extensive memory loss, and of some types of coordination reduction, and and increase of suicidal
thoughts.
Even though there are improvements that could prevent an athlete from extracting head traumas or minimize the effects traumas, by uncompromising consequences, long term head traumas could lead to changes of behavioral moods and personality. Therefor athletes should be required to sit out for longer periods of time so it could give time for the brain to completely heal.
