The general beliefs of the Hindu culture are; Truth is eternal, Brahman is Truth and Reality, The Vedas are the ultimate authority, Everyone should strive to achieve dharma, Individual souls are important, and the goal of an individual soul is moksha.
Hinduism does not originate in a single founder, a single book or a single point in time. It contains many different beliefs, philosophies and viewpoints, not always consistent with each other. Some of those beliefs include the belief that the universe …show more content…
undergoes endless cycles of creation, preservation and dissolution.
Customs and traditions, have always been an important part of every religion and culture. Hinduism civilization is incomplete without them. Before the start of any good work and social and religious ceremonies, Hindus worship Lord Ganesha and chant Mantra. Also the Hindus do not wear footwear inside homes, temples, or other holy places.
The Hindu culture is also a dominant culture, it spread to the presence of Southeastern Asia. Also in 2008 Hindus only accounted for an estimated 0.5% of total population in the United States. Now the Hindus are accounted for an estimated 0.7% of the total United States population, roughly a one million person increase.
Some of the health care beliefs in Hinduism is the belief that illness is a punishment for sins and that they will accept most medical intervention. Also the Hindus believe that there should not be a ritual at an infant's birth. Another thing they believe in is that humans, animals and even plants will be reincarnated.
One of the other religions that I named, Lutheran(Catholic), as a religious movement originated in the early 16th century Holy Roman Empire as a reform movement within the Roman Catholic Church. the movement originated with the call for a public debate by Martin Luther, then a professor of Bible at the yonge University of Wittenberg
Lutheran(Catholic) has its own beliefs also, they believe in; Baptism, Individual access to god, The Lord's supper, Sacraments, Salvation by Grace through Faith, Salvation for all, Scripture, and Worship.
The Lutheran(Catholic) traditions arose during the European Reformation times of the 16th Century c.e. Martin Luther promoted beliefs such as the “priesthood of all believers” and “salvation by faith alone in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ”. The tradition spread across northern Europe and across the globe eventually. The Lutheran World Federation represents unique forms of the church worldwide and coordinates education, interfaith cooperation, relief and outreach ministries.
Some of the dominant cultures associated with Lutheranism is Anglicanism, the Reformed and Presbyterian (Calvinist) churches, Methodism, and the Baptist. The percentage of Lutheran’s in the United States is 6%.
Lutheran’s believe that an infant must be baptized by sprinkling, and the a communion is often administered by the clergy to the sick or prior to surgery.
The last religion I mentioned is Mormon. The Mormon religion originated from the context of the Christian Restorationism in the early 19th century under the leadership of Joseph Smith. The religion is based on the series of revelations that Smith testifies he received as a
teenager.
Some of the things that the Mormons generally believe in is; Jesus Christ, God’s plan of salvation, Restoration of the Gospel , God’s Commandments, Christ’s Church, Joseph Smith, The Book of Mormon, and the Articles of Faith.
The traditions include; Baby Blessings were they give the baby a name around 2 to 3 weeks after living, Baptism and confirmation; when a child reaches the age of 8 he or she is then asked if they would want to be baptized
The Mormons take up all of 2% of the population in the United States
The Mormons believe in divine healing sure as “laying on of hands” by church elders. Mormons would also possibly want the elders of the church by their side at death, and cremation is discouraged.
This is why it is so very important to understand the cultural and religious diversities. In the medical field you have to know what protegerse you are allowed to do on a patient. If you don’t you could be risking a life.
