Essay On Holocaust Lesson
When many people hear the Holocaust, they just think of another part of history, that really doesn’t affect them. Many will exclaim, “ It’s the past, now is now! That’ll never happen again! “, but no one knows what the future will bring, just like how the Jews of Germany had no idea that their whole lives were about to be turned in a whole new direction and their dreams never fulfilled. It is essential that we teach about genocides like the Holocaust because, We do not want the mistakes of the past to happen again, those who were victims should not have died in vain, and it teaches kids about morals and other important things that may come up in their lives.

The lessons learned are about overcoming oppression and finding yourself through these horrible events, and it can also teach kids about how to overcome bullying and racism through the tales of this magnified by the hundreds. these lessons are important to teach because, they are things that do not fit into normal curriculum and are special lessons not to be looked over. So, the holocaust is not just a bunch of history, it is a lesson for kids to learn the real struggles that youth their age had lived amongst extreme oppression.

With this another opinion is revealed. It is that some might argue that we should not teach the holocaust for we are focussing too much on the holocaust, and not on genocides happening today. They would be right, we do need to focus on other genocides, but the holocaust is a genocide that presents a lot of things to learn from that many other genocides haven’t. But it’s agreed that yes, we are focussing too much on the holocaust and not a lot of the struggles of people today with racial

    “To forget the [a] Holocaust is to kill twice.” (Ellie Wiesel) Many words within the past 80 years such as Wiesel’s has impacted history and civilization’s structure to its core. With this in mind, several survivors of the calamitous genocide known as the Holocaust have also expressed their assorted speculations, which can be deemed bias in some eyes. In Canadian history, the Holocaust is represented and taught as a significant catastrophe. Although Canada was not involved with the execution of the Nazi party’s plans, they did however provide assistance in many altercations and uprisings such as the Battle of Ortona. In class Canadian students, such as myself are taught various facts towards the entire genocide in perspective of countries such as Britain, and Italy which played major roles within the era. Forthwith, the standard curriculum has altercated within the past years as gruesome facts of the Jewish minority struggle are not as focused on as the battles which occurred. In addition, several museums in Canada that I have visited such as the Canadian War Museum has reduced the amount of graphic content and information given and presented throughout the World War ll exhibit over the last 5 years. On the other hand, during the early 1960’s, German students were taught minimal knowledge of the Holocaust as a whole, due to the fact that the Berlin wall was still in place until 1989. In addition, teachers did not want to teach the cause of the Holocaust nor leave information out to protect the opinions and standings of the youth in the classroom. Within the last few decades, German students were taught more and more about the Holocaust. In a modern German classroom today, students are taught the Holocaust as a whole, as it is illegal in Germany to deny Nazism.
