Therefore, I'm going to start a small organization while I am studying at Harvard, that consist of hopefully professors, students, and even people who just truly want to see a difference in the world. We will form an alliance and come up with a strategic plan, so that our shelter will not turn out to be like the others. We may start off just giving food and clothes to homeless individuals then grow as an organization that offers a place where they can temporarily stay till they get back on their feet. I already have some ideas in mind that I think will help, like educational programs. These programs will help those individuals who are homeless because they can't get a job, mainly because they don't have a diploma. I plan to give them opportunities to earn a General Education Diploma, or if they already have a GED or a high school diploma then offer job assistance. In addition to educational programs and job assistance, I will provide them with food, a place to stay that is safer than shelters we already have, psychiatric help for those who need it, and housing assistance for when they leave the shelter. Im well aware that there are individuals who can't work for example people with disabilities, illnesses, and even veterans.That doesn't mean we should just let them be but come up with a different approach to accommodate them.
