Another very important memorial is the Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial. On October
16, 2011 Dr. Martin Luther King memorial opened. Martin Luther King wanted black and whites to be equal, not just black and whites but equality everywhere, for those reasons he fought very hard. Today's time everyone is equal and joined as one with the help from Dr.King. Many people look up to him as a good role model and think having a memorial is very special. On the visible side of the Stone of Hope, the words “Out of the mountain of despair, a stone of hope,” a line from Dr.King’s “I have a dream” speech is cut into the stone.
