The United States has seen an increase in school shootings in the past couple of years. Such a dramatic increase that it seems like a trend know. So far this year there has been a reported 52 school shootings. There have been about 142 school shootings since the Sandy Hook massacre in 2012. This is a large number when compared to past years. Implementing gun control will help minimize school shootings.

This is not true because someone with a knife can be stopped much faster than someone with a gun. A knife can’t be compared to a semiautomatic weapon that can instantly kill a large quantity of people. They also argue that mental health issues are a problem in people who engage in school shootings, and nothing can be done to prevent metal health disorders.
