Is obesity a disease or a bad eating habit ?
Around the USA, many people have been affected by different kinds of diseases, the most common now that have affected people the most is obesity.
Obesity is being known as a disease where the human body has more weight than it is healthy to have. The number of people being obese have been piling up, due to the food and activities people decide to eat or do. Mostly any activity they decided to do, results into a nonhealthy way. Some health effects that obesity do, is cause High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Heart diseases, cancer and more. Citizens have been debating whether, Obesity is diseases or not. Many people, say that it is not a disease and should just be considered a bad eating habit. “Obesity does not have characteristic signs or symptoms like diseases typically have. The only characteristic sign of obesity is excess fat, which is the definition of obesity itself. There are also no symptoms for obesity.”
Others say that Obesity is a disease and it should be known as a common disease now. “Obesity, like other diseases, impairs the normal functioning of a body. People who are obese have excess fat tissue that causes the overproduction of certain molecules and mediators in the body, which lead to abnormal regulation of food intake and energy expenditure.”
But what the real answer is that has been chosen by the AMA in the L.A Times says,
