successful able to overthrow the government. So those are the positives for having everybody have guns.
The negatives of people having guns is how nobody knows what a person is going to do with their gun. For instance, some person might have psychological issues. So one day this person can be trusted, but the next day the person can use the gun harmfully, and put multiple people in danger. Another negative of everybody having a gun, is how every person is being trusted, but we all know that everybody is not trustworthy.
Also, the second main view the article talked about is how only law enforcement should have guns. The positive about this idea is how there can be less violence, and that could lead to less deaths. However, there is a underground gun market that nobody has control of, so it would be difficult to make sure nobody has a gun. Another positive of only law enforcement having guns is that people would look up to them. For instance, if every person has a gun, than there is no difference between myself having a gun, and a police officer having a gun. So if only he police have guns, it makes them more respected upon the community.
On the other hand, a negative about this idea is how there is no self-defense.
For instance, it takes the police some time to come to someone’s rescue, or help them. Within that time the person is already robbed or is dead. If that person had a gun or weapon, that person could have not been dead, or not been robbed.
Ultimately, I agree with the side of only law enforcement having guns. Although, I know this can only happen in a utopia, it is still worth the try. I feel if the government works hard and tries to find these illegal underground gun stops, we might be safer then each individual having a gun.
All in all, this article had very good information about the gin control issue that is faced currently. This article showed many governor and states have different views on gun control. Ranging from some states being may issues states for guns to unrestricted states for guns. Also, the idea of what is enough gun control will keep on pondering, until there is a new amendment. Ultimately, it goes on a person’s decision of having a gun, and deciding where to use the
gun.
