REGULATING GUN OWNERSHIP
Gun control, an issue rising in the minds of people. Everyday we see in news that someone got shot, someone got robbed and many other stories in which a “gun” has major role. In every part of the world gun violence has increased and gun control has become hot topic for debate. Do carrying guns makes society safe or dangerous? Studies by New Stanford (2014) showed, increase in gun ownership increased crime. So, gun control is demanded. But there are many people who are against gun control. People often argues that they have right to own a gun, its for the self defense etcetera. Do people really consider while purchasing gun? According to Stephanie Pappas (2015), crimes like robberies, homicides, assaulting with firearms is more where more people own guns. Internet is full reports of criminal activities by gun violence and news of gun violence could be seen almost everyday.
Guns have negative effect on society but the real purpose of owning a gun is self defense and people use it to protect their families against any miss happening. People afraid of having any criminal charges on them. So, why would people take their own guns and take part in any criminal activity. Criminals who commit crimes do not use their own guns or either do they buy guns from the stores. Criminals usually buy gun from those sources by which risk of being caught is less that is a criminal will buy firearm from criminal only. Studies have shown that houses which holds firearms become victims for robberies as thieves not only try to steal money and other precious things but also the weapons and those weapons might be sold in black-markets or might engaged in some
