essay a change of heart about animalb
Jeremy Rifkin argues how the human and animal have differences and we should care more about the animal in the editorial “A Change of Heart About Animals”. I strongly agree because animals like humans, have feeling like we do. Some animals kill each other mainly because there trying to survive for their own good. Humans care for their animals because animals can’t always be on their own. Therefore, we should give animals more empathy because they should be equally treated like we are treated.

I agree because animals, like humans have feelings and abilities not different from us humans. When animals feel sad they cry. Rifkin argues how we don’t treat animals the way there supposed to be treated. Also animals have some special abilities to different kind of stuff. The feeling dogs show isn’t that different from humans. For example, when there happy they run jump around and are playful, when there sad they always go and hide somewhere where no one sees them,

Some animals kill each other mainly because there trying to survive on their own good. When wild animals hunt they kill other animals normally because their hungry they don’t know how the animals feel. Most wild animals are captured for different kind of reasons. When there captured they go to zoos or they take them back to their own natural habitat.

Humans care for their animals because animals can’t live on their own. Animals are able to live every day because of humans. We give them proper food, water and a place to live. People also talk to their animals because they love and care for them.

Rifkin explained in his editorial that animals had not that many differences from humans and that we should care for them more. That is why I agree because animals have the exact same feelings as we do. And mainly theres some animals that’s are wild which are diferent from other animals. Humans care for their animals because animals need love and empathy. That is why animals should be

I am writing to you regarding Mr. Jeremy Rifkin’s article.”A Change Of Heart About Animals” I personally didnt agree with much of what Rifkin said.To me he is a man who just talks and doesnt really go in to depth or think what hes trying to say through. He reccomended we give pigs toys so that they would be more happier and less agressive.Mr. Bob Stevens on the other hand had an amazing argument to what Mr.Rifkin was saying it was outstanding.Rifkin makes an argument saying that we should be more sympathetic on how we treat our animals.Logically there is million of kids in the world who do not have toys but have familes and can not afford them.So there is a dirty pig who is destin for slaughter that is given the oppurtunity to have toys, they…

In discussion of inhumane treatment, a controversial issue is whether animals are entitled to their rights. While some argue that only humans have rights, others contend that animals should have the same privileges as humans. The author of “A Change of Heart about Animals,” Jeremy Rifkin, claims that animals should have better treatment. Rifkin rhetorically changes one’s view on this subject without the consent of the reader. Rifkin begins by showing the animals’ human qualities, then giving a counter statement to common objections, and finally ends it by utilizing negative language. Rifkin’s expressive strategy is to note the similarities between animals and humans. Rifkin mentions Koko, a 300-pound gorilla. Koko was able to learn sign language…

After reading the article A Change of Heart about Animals by Jeremy Rifkin . I conclude that Rifkin is really interested in the way animals feel and the research that proves animals are just like humans . He is persuading us to think that animals are just like us by giving lots of examples of animals having emotions just like humans do. There is also lots of science that leads me to believe animals are just like us. Like the studies researchers have done on pigs, they need attention to stay happy because keeping them isolated or alone will make the pig feel depressed.I feel like animals should have their own rights because they are very intelligent and some, like Koko the gorilla, can communicate with humans. Betty and Abel the…

Jeremy Rifkin expresses his knowledge on how animals are compared to humans in his article “A change of heart about animals.” Rifkin argues that science has shown that the differences between animals and humans are less than we think. I agree that animals are very similar if not close to being on the same level as humans. Most people would assume that animals are very different from us; this could be due to the inabilities we think we have to communicate with animals.…

In an article on September 1st of the Los Angeles Times, Jeremy Rifkin claims animals have the same understanding and concept of emotions we humans have, and that we should treat them as our equals. This idea of his is absurd, and if you really look at it you can see, he is just another animal rights activist trying to get his voice heard.…

In “A Change of Heart about Animals,” Jeremy Rifkin alludes to scientific research to argue that animals have many more human characteristics than previously believed and that they should be treated like humans. He even goes as far to argue that animals should be given toys to comfort them. I disagree with the majority of Rifkin’s beliefs. While I do believe animal abuse like dog fighting is wrong, I disagree with the idea that pigs, who are about to be killed, should be given toys. Spending money on toys for animals meant for slaughter is a waste of resources.…

“Animals deserve to be treated with love and care just like any other species.” True. However, to what extent are we willing to be compared to animals? In the article “A Change of Heart About Animals” Jeremy Rifkin sells the idea that science proves everyday that we aren’t much different from any other animal therefore he believes that, just like humans, animals should have a bill of rights. I say this is too extreme and completely unnecessary.…

In the article, A Change of Heart about Animals, written by Jeremy Rifkin is about how animals are very similar to human beings. Some animals are capable of having emotions and the mental ability to complete tasks as humans can. Rifkin emphasizes how animals should have better treatment due to the lack of compassion and acknowledgment among animals. He uses distinctive types of rhetorical techniques to persuade his audience to agree and feel his pain for these creatures. For instance, Rifkin uses pathos in his writing to get emotional feedback from the reader; he makes the reader feel some sort of guilt or pity for the animals. He also uses examples that have a great deal of credibility; such as using animals that are almost as intelligent as humans and including studies from universities and educational references. Rifkin also makes sure to include companies that supports animal rights that one would never imagine supporting. Lastly, Rifkin uses another technique that would leave the reader questioning their own concerns relating to animal rights.…

Your newspaper published an editorial “A Change of Heart about Animals” September 1, 2003 by Jeremy Rifkin, author and president of the Foundation on Economic Trends, in which Rifkin suggests that the center of the human experience is about extending concern to wider and wider realms to the species we share the world with (34). He implies throughout the article that animals like us, feel pain, experience stress, affection, excitement, and even love (33) . He claims that animals should be treated better because they experience similar emotions we do. By focusing on the ideal of extending the amount of empathy we give to animals, Jeremy Rifkin overlooks the deeper issue of how these creatures of the world feel about us because he does not consider that like them, we…

In Peter Singers All Animals Are Equal, he claims we should give the same respect the lives of non human animals as we give the lives of humans and that all animals human and non-human are in fact equal. I agree with him because there is no reason as to why animals should not get the same rights and respect as us. Animals have interest, when these are similar to ours, or their pain is on a similar level why give them less consideration. All human and animals have similar feelings such as loving something or feeling pain when they get hurt. I agree with Singer in what he says when animals should be given the same respect and treated equally.…

Animals are species of this earth too and they shouldn't be treated like they are any less than humans. People don't realize what animals go through because animals are tortured and treated harshly behind doors, which is the reason humans don't understand their pain. If people were exposed to how animals get treated and how they get slaughtered they would know that it's wrong because they have rights just like humans do. Pollan emphasizes that equality between animals and humans is important when he writes, "To exclude the chimp from moral consideration simply because he's not human is no different from excluding the slave simply because he's not white" (Pollan 207). Animals are usually not talked about when it comes to equality because they aren't the same as humans, which is wrong because just cause animals are different than humans doesn't necessarily mean their existence or interest is not relevant.…

Human kindness is known as an act of concern for other people. Some have shown a little bit of kindness towards someone else here and there, but what about towards animals, do they count as someone or something important to care about? Nowadays humans have become the deciding factor in an animal's life. They are the ones who seem to be making all the decisions for the animals. Having them for the only purpose of serving ourselves seems to be our selfish needs talking. And we are making a choice in letting the cycle of abuse continue for them, while animals are being abused through circuses and farms, for entertainment and food purposes all around the world. When in reality animals have feelings, just like humans do, even if animals may not…

Visualize having someone mistreat you because they don’t feel the pain they’re making you go through. As humans we are capable of letting others know when we are in pain and we are also capable of standing up for ourselves. Animals aren’t able to do that so they are treated unfairly, like if they didn’t feel any pain at all. Although many believe that animals shouldn’t be treated like humans, my goal is to convince my classmates that we should improve the way we treat animals.…
