Estp Personality
There are many types of personalities and how we are able to understand these allows us to have a better work relationship with the people who have them. I would very much like to work in a type of service or entertainment industry where much group work is essential so harmony would be highly important. When meeting new coworkers, there are some who present themselves as bossy or maybe as shy. I am neither and this is a happy medium to be in as it allows me to work effortlessly with others. I took a personality test and found the results quite interesting; on most accounts it did match what I would usually do in a group environment. According to the Jungian Personality Evaluation, I am an ESTP: extroverted, sensing, thinking and perceiving. Basically what it could mean is that this type of person is likely to be active and keeping the group in action or moving towards it in a positive way. Also, if need be this person can easily take a leading role in a crisis and be able to organize the situation (TEAM TECHNOLOGY, 1995). From what I can understand of this, it would mean that this person is not a true take charge leader but is goal oriented and through that the peace keeper of sorts which may land him or her in that leadership position. This new role could be very surprising and be well accepted with welcome relief.
Of course those are positive traits but they can also be very much damaging to a group effort. With that same intent of job completion this type of person may want to rush through the whole process not taking the time to properly analyze the necessary information or beginning a new problem, or stage of the project, before the current one is finished. This type of attitude can also lead to disregarding other people’s ideas or feelings if they are perceived intrusive to the completion of the goal (TEAM TECHNOLOGY, 1995). This could ultimately make the project culminate after an accorded date or not at all.
