According to Schultz (2010) “leadership is the process of persuasion or example by which an individual (or leadership team) induces a group to pursue objective held by the leaders or shared by the leaders and his to her followers…. All that we know about the interaction between leaders and constituents of followers tells us that communication and influence flow in both directions; and it is this two-way communication, non-rational, nonverbal, and unconscious elements ply their part” (p.22).

A leader with influencing power has the strength to take charge, speak up and have ideas; influence leaders have confidence and win followers. Relationship building leaders holds a team together; these leaders have the strength to create groups; they have positivity and harmony to keep the team at high energy. Strategic thinking leader strength includes analyzing information and helps the team to make better decisions; these leaders navigate the best route for future possibilities and see opportunity for growth based on pass events. Effective leaders surround themselves with people that have these four types of strengths.
According to Reynolds (2009) “a leader is a person who can communicate their vision for the future so clearly and so passionately that people believe that it can be achieved.” Leaders know about what they serve in an organization and what actions they must take. Leaders have three qualities: they are authentic, optimistic, and possess a healthy ego. Being authentic creates trust in people they are leading. Leaders, who are optimistic believe in the future and know things can be better. Having a strong ego means that you believe you are right so followers believe in your vision of the future. For a leader to increase their performance of a team or organization, the leader must build on one’s strength. For example, Tiger Woods, top golfer doesn’t do well hitting a golf balls out of the sand bunker; he does not spend time practicing hitting these ball? No. Yet, he spends it on what he is already good at to become better. This is what makes him a successful golf player. The leader strengths based approach brings business success.
Values
According to Mussig (2003) “values are the guiding principles in our lies with respect to the personal and the social ends we desire – such as salvation or peace – and with respect to moral conduct and personal competence – honesty and imagination” (p.1). According to Schmidt (1993) there are two types of values: terminal and instrumental. Terminal is either personal or social; salvation and peace of mind are personal and world peace is social. Instrumental values are moral and competence; moral value has interpersonal focused, feeling of guilt and competency values are personal in focus and their violation leads to feeling of inadequacy and shame. Thus, leaders behaving honestly and responsibly leads to behaving morally, whereas behaving logically or intelligently, lead one to feeling competent. According to Kalargyrou, Pescosolido & Kalargiros (2012) leaders must have strong ethical standards and have a sense of fairness. Ethical leaders must have integrity, honesty and manage their faculty and staff with transparency. Fairness and objectivity are important personal values; leaders must treat employees equal. Other important personal values are “humor, humility, persistence, standing their grounds and not change with the wind” (p. 14). Leaders should be trained in ethics and other personal values such as fairness, creativity, and responsibly; fairness, equitably, integrity and ethical behavior all contribute to leadership effectiveness. In Othman and Rhman (2014) studies showed ethical leadership attributes to good corporate governance.
Ethical leadership attributes accountability: thee include duties and obligation roles and work collectively when making ethical decision. Leaders should also be responsive to act immediately to solve dilemmas. Leader should have integrity; leaders should be honest in disclosure of information to staff, stakeholders and auditors. Personality
According to CSU-Global (2015) in management research refer to personality as individual differences.
“Personality is a unique combination of emotional, though, and behavioral patters the affect how a person reacts to situations and interacts with other” (p.1). The Five-Factor Model of Personality include extraversion, conscientiousness, emotional stability, agreeableness and openness to experience; this model help predict behavior in different type of circumstances. Highly extraverted people can be described as talkative, social, and assertive. Conscientious individuals are considered responsible, persistent, dependable, detail-oriented, achievement-oriented, and orderly. Emotionally stable are secure, unworried and calm. Agreeable individuals are trusting, good-natured and cooperative. People who are open to experience are imaginative, intellectual, artistic, and sensitive. The Big Five Model predicts the correct job performance in many
jobs. According to Rohn (2014) there are seven personality traits of a great leadwe: 1) leaders need to be strong but not impolite 2) be kind and not weak: be kind to tell the truth 3) be bold and bully: for example, if a famer wants rewards at harvest time he must be bold to face the weeds. 4) be humble and not timid: there is distance (feeling) between man and the stars 5) be proud and not arrogant: it take pride in a cause, in accomplishments 6) develop humor without folly: be fun and not polish.
