Ethics is a fairly easy thing to deal with. Everyone on the team should treat everyone equally. Race, gender, and culture should not be a problem. If it is ever a problem, the coach should address it immediately and appropriately. There should be no bullying or “hazing.” Everything the coach and athletes do should be positive and work towards building the team up. There should be no negative comments (or anything of that nature) between us. Motivation is important to me. I have always performed best when a coach motivates me, and I know plenty of others who would say the same. As a coach, I would strive to constantly motivate my athletes and my assistant coaches. This would assist in having a better team environment. Discipline is not always the easiest thing to do. When disciplining an athlete, the coach has to think about how it could affect him/her, the athlete being disciplined, the team, the educational institution, and the community. I will hold myself to the same set of rules and guidelines I hold to my team and other coaches. As of right now my rules and/or guidelines are the prohibition of drinking, smoking, or drugs of any kind. If I find out that one of my athletes have a problem with one of these, I will proceed to get them the appropriate help. I will try my best not to throw anyone off my team unless they cannot be handled and will not even try to comply with the rules. I will not allow my athletes to use foul language or be disrespectful to anyone. My first step to helping an athlete behave, or with an athlete who does not follow the guidelines, would be to talk to them one on one and figure out why they act the way they do. After this I could decide the best way to handle/help the athlete and his
