Ethical Lens Inventory
The Ethical Lens Inventory was an interesting quiz to help define the kind of student that I am and the way that I learn. After asking many questions in 12 different categories, my strengths are in Money and Purpose, which had the same result number, followed closely by Attitude. My weaknesses were Reading and Time. I was already aware of some of my weaknesses and strengths are when it comes to the way I handle different aspects of my life so it was very interesting to see these results visually after completing the quiz.
Having one of my strengths be the money category makes sense to me because I have spent many years getting my finances in order to make sure I can support my son and I, raise and protect my credit score, and enjoy a comfortable and happy life. As a single mother, money has always been an aspect of my life that I constantly need to manage to ensure I am able to support and provide for my son and myself. I do not get assistance from any other person in my life so it is important and a huge responsibility that I make sure my son has what he needs to be successful in school. I also believe in paying yourself first; from every paycheck I do something or buy something that makes me happy. By paying myself first, I feel the rewards of my hard work and I’m happier, which makes everyone around me happier. Purpose was my other highest strength which I feel represents the ambitions and motivations in my life, especially for my decision to become a student. I believe in putting my efforts into things that I feel strongly for or in the course of completing a personal goal. I want to not only secure my lifestyle and comfort level for my son and I, I also want to be a positive influence for my son and hopefully motivate him to skip some of the mistakes I made in my life so that his life experience is better.
