Eulogy For Father
Without my uncle Donald, I would not be where I am today, I owe him everything, and all I must give him is love, but there isn't enough love in the world to show him how much he is loved by me. I will try to tell you about him as best I can, through my tears. My first real memory of my uncle Donald was age seven or eight. I spent most of my early years with my grandparents and Donald was there, and I am sure there was a lot of interaction between us, because I have always loved him, and as far back as I can remember, he was always the go to person in the home. No one dared make any major decisions without running it by my uncle Donald; he was always in on everything from the ground up. The whole family loved him and held in …show more content…
No one was home but Donald and me. He was so angry because he did not want to leave me at home alone and time was fleeting. He told me he was going to have to get me dressed and take me with him because he didn't want to be late. We got me dressed, and then there was the hair. Oh, boy!! My hair was long and Donald was braiding it. I started squirming and whining because he was braiding it too tightly, which meant, my braids would not hang down on my shoulders. What did I say that for?!! He grabbed a hand full of my hair, pulled my head back and told me I had better be glad he was getting me ready to go with him and if I kept on complaining, he would leave me home …show more content…
The organist played the Greek Medley, and when Donald stood up for his fraternity's hymn, I bounced up also. He politely put his hand on my head and pushed me back down into my seat. Donald was and still is the best cook in the family, and he taught me a lot about cooking. I always feel so proud when he compliments my food. Donald always helped my mom if she had any emergency situations after our father passed, he has always been there for all of the family when necessary, he was and still is very kind and has such a sweet and gentle manner about him. The whole family thought of him as a prince among princes and a king among kings. Now to explain my first sentence… My first husband was not a very nice man; I left him a number of times. The last time I did, I called Donald; he came to collect Shelli and me. When he got me to his house, he asked me if I had left for good, my answer was yes. He handed me $45.00, the cost of a divorce in 1963, and told me which lawyer to go to. He also said to me that I did not have to worry about my education, that he would personally pay my tuition so I could graduate from college. He gave me a home for my daughter and me, took care of my needs, and did indeed pay my tuition, and was sitting on the front row with my wonderful grandmother when I graduated. Donald has looked after me and taken care of

My Dad is an extremely hard working person. He is always up and ready for the day before anyone else in my family and He is also the last person up always working on His projects. Just as much of a harder worker He is my Dad is also twice, even three times nicer than. My Dad is the most loving person I know, He has been extremely supportive in all my endeavors in life. He always reminds me of how much He loves me and care for me, He also sacrificed so much of His life to give me a better opportunity. He works selflessly to provide for my brothers and sisters all our necessities and goes the extra mile to ensure that we have everything we need to be successful. He always is there for me when I need Him. He would literally drop whatever He is doing just to hear me rant or if I need a shoulder to cry on. He never belittles me or my problems and insecurities. He constantly reaffirms me of my potential when I feel just like garbage. He is always telling me I am destined for greatness, I am priceless and worth more than the world to Him. Even when I hear Him tell me these things over and over I believe Him because He is extremely genuine. It is actually because of Him that I want to help people with my life. He always told me to never be greedy or money hungry, but that I should use my wealth to help the poor. He never looks down on people in a worse position than Him, He always calls other people our brothers and sisters.…

At first we did not get along at all, but he never gave up on me. He was always there making sure I was making the right decisions and teaching me every painful lesson for making the wrong decision. I remember when I was 14 and I sort of ran away, but eventually got hungry and started riding my bike home. I got about half way there and sure enough he pulled up alongside me in the truck and all he said was “I’ll be waiting for you at home boy”. With only about 2 miles left it took me about 1 hour and a half. When I finally got there he knocked me off my bike and started teaching in his own way. This is by far…

My hands are shaking as I stumble back and slump down against the plain white wall, grasping an old family portrait, looking up to avoid the tears from blurring my vision and holding it in front of my face with both hands in an attempt to steady myself. I feel my breathing calm down and a grin spread across my face. It’s a picture of me when I was 7, cheerfully blowing out candles on a chocolate cake my parents held with my mother standing on my left and my father to my right. “How fitting, don’t devils sit on your left shoulder?” I snicker while I hastily tear the photograph in two and fling the side with my mother towards the centre of the room.…
