Eve Island Book Vs Movie

There are many reasons why I personally have enjoyed the film more than the novel. I believe that there is a lot of small details in the film that makes it that much better. An example would include when prim tucks in her shirt after she is called up on stage. Nowhere in the novel did the author give this small but powerful detail. Another example would include at the start of the film when it gave us an explanation of the reaping and what it stood for. We did get this information in the novel, but it took time to develop and at first in the novel I had no idea why prim had gave katniss a gift. Another advantage that the film has that the novel doesn't is the power to show us all the surroundings and even though the novel tries to describe it with words it doesn't give the same effect. I personally felt that i understood the film better than the novel because of the images.
Something that I noticed while watching the film was that a lot of the novel is cut off to make the film. An example would include when Haymitch vomits on the train and then slips and falls to the floor the author puts this in the novel by saying “...he vomits all over the expensive carpet and falls in the mess.”(47). Another example would be In the novel, before Katniss and Peeta board the train for the Capitol, Peeta's dad,the baker, brings Katniss a plate of cookies and informs her that he'll make sure Prim is eating. This makes Katniss wonder what his real intentions are. Finally something the novel is able to do that the film isn't is to allow the reader to set up his own image of district 12. I personally feel that it is better when you see a clear picture of how something looks but others really enjoy creating their
