Sequence Stratigraphy a one of a kind tool to have the ability to contain descriptive physical stratification and lithology within a chronological order. Our understanding and application of it developing ever since its acknowledgment by humans from both academia and industry which was first observed as unconformities that were later correlated with a eustatic influence as well as tectonic and depositional/erosional setting. These influences affect accommodation as well as material supply which in turn governs’ the stacking patterns and our understanding of the relative depositional time and environment. This paper will explain the relationship between eustatic cycles and change in sea-level and the layers of stacking patterns they leave behind in the strata. The figures will give a visual representation of patterns, methods, sequences, data, and application of sequence stratigraphy. The varying methods which apply to several different models which vary to dependent or independent aspects, allows an adjustable approach to any area of study allowing the best choice available to be observed and interpreted. The development of seismic and electronic technology to accurately map these sequences and the integration of their respective fields and data collection will be talked about in this paper and how further predictions are now able to accurately be made.

Introduction

The world of Geology has been brought to a new age of observation, interpretation and reasoning with the arrival of Sequence Stratigraphy. What is Sequence Stratigraphy? What is its purpose? How does it serve Geology? Sequence stratigraphy is uniquely focused on analyzing changes in facies and geometric character of strata and identification of key surfaces to determine the
