Example Of A Satire Skit

To wrap up our satire unit in Honors English 11, we were asked to do a satirical skit covering a real world problem. The skit needed to be a minimum of five minutes long and it had to propose an outlandish solution to a common problem faced today. Additionally, we were asked to add three facts to our script. My group covered the issue of war. Our proposed solution was to forcefully distribute a drug that raises dopamine and serotonin levels. Thus, individuals would experience a sense of euphoria, decreasing the number of conflicts in the world. The purpose of this project was to enable us to achieve a deep understand of satire and encourage us to think about the struggles the world faces.

This project helped open my eyes to the difficulty
of proposing reasonable solutions to many of the common problems we face today. It is almost impossible to please everyone and many problems don't have a clear solution. I enjoyed writing the satire and I also enjoyed trying to decide on a ridiculous solution to such common problems. If I were to change something, I would have added more facts and more humor.
