Wright from the University of Nevada (2002) discussed in his article what managers should know of their employees based of a meta-analytic research that was conducted at the University of Florida. The meta-analysis attempted to measure the employee motivation using the five big personality traits. The study showed that an employee’s personality does offer a type of relationship with their lack or abundance of motivation. That depending of the type of personality an individual has would result on how motivated the employee truly was. Authors Nohria, Groysberg, and Lee (2008), discuss how through research employees have four underlining drives when it comes to work. These four terms included acquire, bond, comprehended, and defend. No term being more important than the other. A higher percentage of motivated employees is attainable; if all four drives have been met. They offered many possible strides in ways achieving every driver behind motivation, but one that reminds me of athletics the most is the reward system. This reward system ranges in multitude of ways in athletics but typically can be found more common in coaches/staffing
