The government was under an apartheid which is were racial discrimination is legal. Black people in South Africa are not aloud on park benches, they have separate schools, areas to live and different places to sit on busses. Discrimination in that particular time era was greatly apposed by the rest of the world and international protest began putting growing pressure on the government to end the apartheid. On the build up to the killing of the Jews in Germany the Jewish people had been subject to apartheid laws and people were encouraged to discriminate against the Jewish people to make their lives harder. The Jews were given separate living quarters of the town, mixed marriages were made illegal and they were deprived of there citizenship.
