Examples Of Dismal Criteria For Poor Attendance

I do not believe that poor attendance should be dismal criteria for a child who really needs the services. It isn’t acceptable to cancel much-needed services just because a child isn’t attending them. Whether they aren’t receiving them because they are personally skipping them or if an outside influence such as parents bringing them to school, the problem should progressively try to be resolved. Firstly, I believe an SLP should emphasize the importance of the service to both the family and the individual. Perhaps then the SLP could use the “Problem-Solving Process” even though this is usually used for therapy planning, it very well may help solve the issue.
