Having a friend there for you and watch over you and care for you is a great thing. Sometimes great things have to come to an end other times they don't is just depends. In John Steinbeck's book “Of Mice and Men” it shows how the friendship of many is created yet also sometimes destroyed. There are a lot of different kinds of friendships some more different than others. Being there for a friend is very important making sure that they're okay and that you're always going to have their back. George and Lennie are a perfect example of this, George was always there for Lennie no matter what the situation was. An example of this in John steinbeck's book “of Mice and Men” when George and Lennie were outside talking and george stated
“guys like us got no family” Lennie answered “but not us because i got you.” Stating that he's always going to have Lennie to lean back on. Taking care of someone who means so much to you is also a great example of friendship. Making sure this person has shelter somewhere to be and have a supply of food and is safe is another thing. In John steinbeck's book “of Mice and Men” George makes sure Lennie has a home a place to sleep. George keeps an out of for Lennie and if he gets in trouble George is always there to back him up and save him from the huge trouble he could be getting in. Although Lennie doesn't get money George is a great enough friend to let Lennie stay with him and if they get a new place to live he would take Lennie with him. “We will get a farm” as George was telling his friend Slim, Slim says that he would put money in helping them save up which is also a great example of friendships. Although sometimes friendships always don't go the right way. In John steinbeck's book “of Mice and Men”George and lennie were best friends Lennie made a mistake that would've got him in a lot of trouble. George found him took him to the woods and shot him in the back of the head. That wasn't the way to handle it George could've done something else or took him somewhere safe. On the other hand people state that it's a good thing it happened because now he can't hurt people or act stupid. That is how a friendship gets destroyed. In Conclusion friendships are great they treat you fairly, you have somebody there for you when you fall and you have someone to take care of you if you need it. Sometimes friendships can turn around and get destroyed like in John steinbeck's book “Of Mice and Men.”
