First I will discuss how freedom was given to us in the Emancipation Proclamation and the Bill of Rights. In the speech “Martin Luther King: I Have A Dream” in lines 4-5, Dr. King quoted “five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today signed the Emancipation Proclamation. Dr. King was saying that President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation to make blacks and whites equal and not different. Dr. King also mentioned the Bill of Rights that we all shouldn’t be without freedom or rights. People should
have the rights to have freedom.
Next I will discuss why freedom was given to us.Freedom was given to us because, in the speech “Martin Luther King: I Have A Dream” in lines 22-23 quoted that the “ Emancipation proclamation was the promise that all men black or white would be guaranteed unalienable rights of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.Freedom should be given to everybody not told to be free.
In conclusion, Lastly I will discuss why we need freedom. We need freedom because, in the text “March on Washington” in lines 41-43 quoted that “After recalling the story of Lincoln freeing the slaves, with the simple stroke of a pen in the middle of a bloody war, King laments the inferior position of blacks a century later.” The text “March on Washington” was stating that the reason we are free now is because of Abraham Lincoln signing the Emancipation Proclamation to make all blacks free.
