Because issue of gay/lesbian people is so huge and already has big support is society, it is nearly impossible to outline all stakeholders in Australia and internationally. Some larges and most famous ones are:
Peak organisations:
The Gay & Lesbian Rights Lobby (GLRL) advocates on behalf of the lesbians and gay men. They also represent the gay and lesbian community at the local, state and national level through state wide consultations.

Some Celebrities and the Media
Government stakeholders and Politicians
The Greens.
In terms of party attitude and campaigning for gay and lesbian rights, the Greens are clear leaders of all political parties existing now in Australia.. ACT Chief Minister Jon Stanhope: Stanhope’s attempts to get Australia’s first full-strength civil union laws Independent Member for Bligh, Clover Moore: A long time supporter of her many gay and lesbian constituents in Bligh, Moore and a regular participant in the Mardi Gras parade
Tanya Plibersek and Anthony Albanese: Labour’s Anthony Albanese and Tanya Plibersek represent ethnically diverse and vary gay communities. They are known to campaign for gay and lesbian rights in the party room.
Despite having a lot of supporters, this issue also has many powerful opponents in:
• General public;
• In political and government sphere and in the Parliament
• Church and most religions.
They would be the opposition of the campaign and have critical interest for us as they are people and organisations we are going to work against: try and change their view, lobby them, educate, argue, write letters and petitions in order to change their attitude and decisions.

stakeholders.
• Describe your communication process.
Level of involvement in the Campaign and Communication process should be negotiated in beginning of whole campaign and reflect level of involvement. Obviously, the more supporters are involved and the more help the campaign is getting, the more communication between leaders of campaign and participating bodies is going to happen. Most of the communication is going to be between leaders of the campaign and leaders of supporting pick bodies, so then they could to pass their decisions made and jobs to do down to advisory committee and interested wider community. Inner Circle of the campaign and leaders of interested pick bodies should have regular meetings to plan next steps and actions and also communicate via phone and email. As well as that, there should be meetings dedicated particularly to evaluation process, where new strategies and decisions can be made based on evaluation process.
• Describe role each organisation/stakeholder would play i.e. what will they contribute to your campaign
The Gay & Lesbian Rights Lobby (GLRL)- This organisation would provide referral and educative resources on gay and lesbian rights to the media, policy makers and the community. They would lobby politicians, government departments, policy makers and the media to redress discrimination against lesbians and gay men.
Mardi Gras - Their general objective would be to raise the visibility of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer communities and also fundraising through events.
GLOBE (Gay & Lesbian Organisation of Business & Enterprise)- They would be actively involved in fundraising and sponsorship, which support other GLBT community organisations.
The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC)- would be actively involved in advocacy on behalf of people who experience discrimination or abuse on the basis of their actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
Human Rights commission- Would be advocating for reviewing laws, conducting research, preparing policy advice and running community education programs.
Twenty 10, Gay and Lesbian Counselling Service of NSW (GLCS), The Gender Centre – will help with providing statistical information; information about issues in gay/lesbian communities; educating community
Celebrities and the Media- will help us to educate and persuade community, telling the public about gay/lesbian issues with physical and mental health, raising awareness, expressing humanistic point of view.
Politicians- sometimes will act as Celebrities, talking on TV and radio raising awareness, but mail role will be to insure bigger support in their own parties and outside their parties, as well as persuade parliament to change the law.
• Identify any strategic alliances you may form with any of the stakeholder groups. Explain why these alliances are strategic.
The strategic alliances would be these alliances which can act in line with our strategic plan. For example one of our strategies would be Needs assessment and community consultation. In this regard some of already existing stakeholders could be very useful to us, providing data on statistics, issues and strategies. The Gay & Lesbian Rights Lobby, Mardi Gras and GLOBE could provide us with this information, therefore cooperating with these stakeholders would be strategic. One of the other our strategies would be protecting gay/lesbian rights and lobbying Government, so The Gay & Lesbian Rights Lobby, The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission and Human Rights commission would be our strategic alliances for doing
this.
The campaign will constantly need the money to keep going, so GLOBE and Mardi Gras would be strategic alliances as they could help us with raising the money.
