In 2013, “Sperry’s study considers leadership assessment to be a necessary ingredient in effective executive coaching and consulting psychology” (Sperry, 2013). This is an important ability to have when serving within an organization as an Executive Coach. Why? Well, this ability enables the Executive Coach to self-assess his/her strengths and weaknesses to provide a better service to the leaders of an organization. Self-Assessment is defined as an appraisal of one’s own personal qualities or traits (Northouse, 2013, p. 7).
