In Task two I’m going to describe in depth how, policies and procedures promote safety in a health and social care setting. Legalisation is a law which has created by the government. There are many legalisation, policies and procedures that are really important which have been put into place as they have a purpose to promote and protect the health and safety of individuals in a health and social care setting.
One important piece of legalisation is (COSSH) (The control of substances Hazardous to health regulations) this applies to every health and social workplace. This legalisation promotes safety and protection to individuals in the workplace protecting them from any health risks like hazardous substances that can harm you. The substances may include powerful chemicals or chemicals that may arise from work like fumes or dust. (COSSH) requires employers to follow procedures and to control substances that are hazardous to health such as toxic, corrosive or irritant chemicals like cleaning products.
