In Task two I’m going to describe in depth how, policies and procedures promote safety in a health and social care setting. Legalisation is a law which has created by the government. There are many legalisation, policies and procedures that are really important which have been put into place as they have a purpose to promote and protect the health and safety of individuals in a health and social care setting.
One important piece of legalisation is (COSSH) (The control of substances Hazardous to health regulations) this applies to every health and social workplace. This legalisation promotes safety and protection to individuals in the workplace protecting them from any health risks like hazardous substances that can harm you. The substances may include powerful chemicals or chemicals that may arise from work like fumes or dust. (COSSH) requires employers to follow procedures and to control substances that are hazardous to health such as toxic, corrosive or irritant chemicals like cleaning products. In a care setting such as a nursery, if hazardous substances are not stored properly they are easily accessible to children who may cause any spillage and …show more content…

Health and safety is important in a care setting because it makes the person feel safe. The health and safety act ensures that all procedures are followed by employers for health and safety. All Employers must eligible meaning having a lot of responsible with in the building and for people that are in the building. All employers must carry out a risk assements for health and safety.
