Anemic happen when your body lack of healthy red blood cell or hemoglobin in blood [2]. Hemoglobin is an iron-containing protein in red blood cells that reversibly binds to oxygen [1]. Besides that, anemic also cause by faulty red blood cell production or destruction of red blood cell.
Anemic during pregnancy are common happen to pregnant women because woman body need a lot of nutrient to develop the growth of the fetus and also for pregnant women herself [3]. There are 3 types of anemic during pregnancy such as, iron-deficiency anemia, folate deficiency anemia and Vitamin B12 deficiency [3].

Masala teas are made by brewing black tea with a mixture of aromatic Indian spices, and herbs [12]. Masala tea does contain caffeine [10]. During pregnancy, a pregnant women need to limit the caffeine intake to 150 milligrams to 300 milligrams daily [10]. In other hand, Mrs TK consumed caffeine more than she should take. Caffeine can interrupt the absorption of iron from food and supplement and cause iron-deficiency [13]. This is because polyphenols found in coffee and teas are known to be major inhibitors of iron absorption [13]. Masala tea also known as black tea and in masala tea there is tannis that inhibit absorption of iron [13]. These include chlorogenic acid, which is found mainly in coffee, cocoa and some herbs [13]. Summary from Healthline website, the polyphenols in coffee and tea inhibit iron absorption by up to 90% [13].
