Light, sound and weather conditions: these are very important factors to be taken into account proper lighting, heating during winter months and ventilation arrangements should be checked to suit the weather conditions. In case of power failure or other problems with light fittings emergency torch should be kept accessible and checked on regular intervals. While conducting activities it should be ensured that all the participants are able to listen to the instructions and there is less disturbance from outside noises. For children with auditory impairments visual instructions should be provided.
For outdoor activities children must wear proper clothing and gears to protect themselves like winter coats, gloves during winter, sun cream and light uniform options should be chosen during hot sunny days. Outdoor activities must be conducted under proper lighting arrangements, use of microphone speakers and/or display boards should be considered if there are many participants to ensure the instructions are audible/seen.

Proper risk assessment needs to be carried out while taking children for outdoor activities. Outdoor equipment like sand pit, water containers, climbing frames, bikes should be kept clean, maintained and replaced regularly to ensure safe usage by children for e.g. sand in the sand pit may get contaminated by animal waste or rusting on bikes, climbing frame may be dangerous for children using it and needs replacement. Trees/plants in the garden area should be trimmed or replaced on regular basis to avoid possible harm to
