P1
Risk: the chance of getting harmed.
Hazard: anything which can cause harm.
I will be taking 5 children aged 2-4 from the nursery to the park. There are many hazards that can occur in the park such as the following.
1. Glass on the ground, child could pick up the piece of glass and cut them self.
2. Ice on ground, child could slip and could cause them to fracture their arm or leg, if they land in a bad position.
3. Pond is another hazard as the child could fall or jump in to the pond causing them to drown.
4. Dog poo on ground, child could slip on dog poo, the child could get a bruise when she/he falls from dog poo.
5. The sand pit, sand could go in a child’s eye.
6. Poisoners berries, child could …show more content…

M2 likely hood and severity
Ice
It is fairly likely that a child will slip on ice; however the children will be wearing the appropriate shoes (weillies) so therefor this will help them keep steady.
The care takers will also pour salt onto the ice for it to melt. If this did occur it will w weeks to sort out as it is not a serious injury such as a deep cut that would need stiches.
Dog poo
It is fairly likely that a child eats dog poo, as the age range is 2-4 years. This would cause them to get an infection so for that reason. The child would need to get medicine from his gp, it would take a few weeks to sort out but this is not a serious injury.
Sand pit
It’s a 25% chance that a child gets sand in their eyes while playing in the sand pit; this is a minor injury as the child might get some irritation in eyes form the sand and might need some professional advice for treatment.
Glass on ground
It is fairly likely that a child picks up a piece of glass and cuts themselves. Deepening on how big the cut may be this is not a serious injury as it will only take a couple of weeks to fade away. Pond
It is very likely for a child to jump into a pond. At the age of 2-4 children are still learning rights from wrong. This is a very serious injury as it could be a permanent injury the child could drown and
die.
Poisoners berries
It is fairly likely that that a child would eat poisoners berries from a bush in the park. The children are only 2-4 so this is a 50% chance this will occur. This will be not a serious injury however the child would need to visit professional assistance.

Ice on the ground
Children slip and fall in icy conditions are a common hazard. But there are things that we can all do to reduce the risk of getting hurt. Follow the guidelines below if you do have to go out in icy conditions.
