Explain The Three Levels Of Cultural Competence

The EYLF proposes that cultural competence is not just being able to show awareness of cultural differences, it is being able to interact and communicate successfully with people from across all cultures. It is also understanding your own position and potential and unintentional biases. In terms of linking Principles to practice, this is connected to the fifth principle-ongoing learning and reflective practice. Cultural competence is also a term which develops from the Principles: Secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships, respect for diversity, partnerships and respect for equality.
