“Why did you have to have this disease where all you could do is lay there, for when I was growing up all I wanted was for us to play.” Since my early childhood I have wanted to be a pediatrician. It all started September 28, 2004 when my brother was born with osteoporosis imperfecta. Osteoporosis imperfecta type 1 is when you have poor muscle tone, loose joints and slight spinal curvature. When I was growing up I wasn't home so much, but in a hospital for my brother because he used to get a lot of respiratory failures and had a hard time eating. My family and I used to spend days, even months in the hospital due to my brother having respiratory failures which meant being under doctor watching. Later on, he was recommended a gastrostomy tube named Mic-Key which he might need his whole life if his body doesn’t learn to process food naturally. He might not be able to do everything a child with his age would be. Since then, I have …show more content…
I have realized I wanted to be one when my brother was born on September 28,2004. I have had a lot of experience since my brother was born; I now know how to feed him through his gastrostomy tube and how to change it as well. This experience has shaped me from being in the hospital going back and forth, and to getting the chance to talk to the people already in the profession. This is a personal narrative to inform my peers and teacher about the journey I have been through of discovering what I want to be. Now, being in high school looking at college I know what my path will be. I will go off to college, then go to medical school and become a pediatrician what I want to be. During this progress I have felt sad. I felt sad because going through this and not being able to help my brother out in this situation. That is the reason I want to be a pediatrician to know that I can make a difference in people’s life. I want to have that satisfaction of knowing I helped

The concept surrounding this is the key subject in our experiment. What happens to metabolism as the scent of a predator is introduced to its prey?…
