Growing up I always thought I would someday be a nurse. It was a dream that I always had. Knowing that it would be hard for mom and dad to afford, I considered enlisting into the army to get school and training paid for. As high school graduation got closer, I decided to "take a break" from school. So, I didn't go to college or enlist.…
Pursuing a career in the nursing field was the first change that I decided to make when I held my sister's hand as she gave birth to my three year old nephew. I was inspired by the care that was provided to my sister and my newborn nephew by various types of nurses before, during, and after birth. Since then, my awareness for the well-being of others increased while learning more about nurses and what they do. My first experience volunteering at Texas Children's Hospital has also encouraged me even more to become a nurse when I encountered my first four year old cardiac patient. I was prepped by his nurse in how to safely interact with the patient while she was helping me into my protective gown and gloves. The real inspiration was actually meeting the patient and lessening his anxiety of being in a hospital through one on one contact.…
I want to be a lpn because caring for others is my passion and it brings me so much joy knowing that I made a difference in someone's life(Even if it's just by putting a smile on someone face). My dream of becoming a nurse is something that came to me from a very young age. From birth, till my family and I were able to come to the United States, I was in a environment where the health care system believe was to give treatment to those can afford to pay for it. I was men and women dying prematurely from minor health problem because their family couldn’t afford to take them for treatment. It hit me hard when my family and I came to American 2003, we learn that my grandfather die because of hunger. Expersing all these things at such a young…
My career choice is to be an R.N. (registered nurse). For starters, registered nurses (RNs) are not limited to working in hospital settings. RNs can also work in clinics, schools, assisted living facilities, homes, and more. They can also specialize in areas such as cardiac care, midwifery, family practice, geriatrics, labor and delivery and emergency nursing. Basic registered nursing duties: Nursing responsibilities can vary greatly depending on the healthcare setting. But in an average day, RNs might administer medication, consult with other healthcare providers, monitor patients, educate individuals and family and be responsible for managing medical records. They must also stay up-to-date with new tools and technology to help provide the best care to patients and families, and the best support to doctors and other healthcare professionals.…
Everybody has something they want to be when they grow up, whether it be a lawyer, a firefighter, or an engineer. There are people whose dream eventually dies out, but for the people whose dream to be a registered nurse is alive and breathing, here is some information and very helpful advise on registered nursing. Registered nurses are smart, dedicated, and responsible to their duties. When considering a career as a registered nurse, a person should carefully look at aspects such as ones responsibilities, work conditions, salary, necessary skills, and it’s aspects, but even more importantly is to prepare oneself properly by attending the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. A registered nurse has much to do and barely to no time to play.…
I chose to do my research paper over RN’s also known as registered nurses. Some of the reasons I would choose to be an RN for my career is because they are always needed everywhere, they make a pretty decent amount of money, and there are many branches of being a registered nurse so you have so much to choose from so you can do something you love for a living. The specific field of nursing I would like to go into is obstetrician, or OBGYN nurse. They care for women from puberty to menopause, they also help women during pregnancy, labor and childbirth, as well as women with health issues with their reproductive system. These nurses help in a lot of ways with pregnancies, they help the mother in keeping a healthy body and diet while carrying…
It is a healthcare profession that focuses on providing emergency treatment to both victims and suspects of violent crime. Most of a the nurse’s patients are affected by crime, so these types of programs combine elements of medicine and law. The nurses cooperate with medical staff and the police to collect and preserve biological samples like blood or semen that can be used as evidence in a criminal trial. Sometimes they are asked to be expert witnesses in court, so these programs teach students about the criminal justice system and how to make ethical decisions. As a field, it has emerged only within the last 20 years, so there are only a few educational options to choose from. You can either earn a masters degree or an undergraduate degree, plus a graduate certificate. No matter what…
I am interested in becoming a registered nurse when I graduate from high school. I think I would be good at this job because I enjoy helping people and becoming registered nurse would allow me to do a lot of that. I believe that this job will provide many benefits, such as good pay, flexible hours, and the joy it would bring me to know that I helped someone or did my best to do something good for them and get them feeling better. I am in the healthcare pathway at the high school and I really enjoy it. Becoming a registered nurse has been my dream for as long as I can remember and I hope to make that dream come true. I will work as hard as I can to achieve my dream and when I get the job, will do the best that I can to help as many people as…
Throughout life, I have grown up watching them as well as listened to them about helping those in need and making an impact on one's life. Observing my mom is what kind of triggered the fire in me to research careers not only in nursing but in the healthcare field as well. Another little push in getting me to think about nursing was volunteering and shadowing local healthcare professionals , which in the end opened my eyes even more to the endless possibilities as to how a nurse could help others. Pursuing a career in nursing can really help distinguish what it means to help people as well as educate me personally in other areas that could be both beneficial and rewarding in the future. In the end, I aspire to absorb as much information and hands on training as possible so that I will be well equipt and ready for real world…
My desire to embark on a nursing course started when my grandfather was admitted in a hospital. I was delighted by the service he had received and the nurses were extremely caring. This is when I thought to myself, this is the profession I would thrive in as I love to help people and look after them. I took part in many activities and work experiences, in order for me to be certain that this was the right career choice for me. I enjoy talking to and caring for residents and developing relationships with them and this is something that really attracts me to nursing.…
While at times emotionally and physically challenging, being a registered nurse has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. We are not just caregivers, but also role models for the community we serve and I am proud to be a part of this noble profession. Seeing first-hand the positive impact nurses can have on patients and their family members makes all of the stress and long hours worth it. I started my career four years ago on an adult medical/surgical unit. There, I was able to put in to practice my nursing school education and enhance basic nursing skills such as time management, talking to patients and families and working together with the interdisciplinary team to provide the best care possible.…
I have worked the last thirteen years as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA). I have experienced a variety of patients; in nursing homes I have mostly dealt with the Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients. The last six years I have worked for a Nursing Agency in Gainesville, GA. Working for the agency has given many opportunities that many CNA’s do not get to experience. I have worked med-sur unit, orto-nero unit, detox center, mental health unit, home health care, and care for people with special needs. This experience has helped me decide what field to work in after graduation. It can be difficult most days but at the end of the day it is very gratifying to know you have helped someone with their needs. You can have many different patients to care for at one time which is hard to do. I am caring toward my patient’s and want to assist with their medical and personal needs. If I have made just one person day better when do not feel good then I have met my goal; this is the main reason for me becoming a nurse. I have a second reason for becoming a nurse and that’s for my family.…

The medical field has always been a childhood dream of mine. I find the human body fascinating. When I was young child I wanted to be a doctor. Then nursing became an alternative as I got older. Becoming a nurse will help me achieve my professional goal. I have always felt a deep desire to help people whenever they needed it, and would stop at no end to help them. I want to help people achieve and maintain good health, to make someone feel special, let them know that someone cares about them and getting well, whatever the situation, and comfort them when they are in pain or even dying.…
