Why Become A Registered Nurse
I am interested in becoming a registered nurse when I graduate from high school. I think I would be good at this job because I enjoy helping people and becoming registered nurse would allow me to do a lot of that. I believe that this job will provide many benefits, such as good pay, flexible hours, and the joy it would bring me to know that I helped someone or did my best to do something good for them and get them feeling better. I am in the healthcare pathway at the high school and I really enjoy it. Becoming a registered nurse has been my dream for as long as I can remember and I hope to make that dream come true. To be a registered nurse you must be able to explain to patients what is wrong with them and what they can do or take to make themselves better (Bls.com). A registered nurse also have to monitor the employees under them and make sure they are doing what they are supposed to do the way they are supposed to do it ("What Nurses Do.”). A typical day as a registered nurse can vary very much everyday depending on where you work. For example, if you work in a big hospital you probably would see more of a variety versus what you would see in a little clinic. This job can be very emotional especially if you lose people so you must be prepared for that emotionally. There could be good days where someone with a cold and there could be others when you have to help with a car wreck victim. Everyday as a registered nurse can greatly differ depending on many things and this is something anyone wanting to become one should consider when trying to find a place to work.
Before you become a registered nurse you must acquire a bachelor's degree, associate's degree, or nursing to diploma ("RN: Educational Requirements to Become a Registered Nurse."). Pros of this education requirement is that it prepares you greatly for what you will have to do when you get your actual job. Also, it allows you to go back and higher your education if that is what you choose to do. Cons of this education is that nursing school can sometimes be very frustrating and hard, and depending on what degree you are hoping to achieve, takes years of studying and focusing on school.
