I Want To Pursue Nursing School

I often get asked the question of what makes me want to pursue nursing? Or, why would I want to attend nursing school? To answer the question(s), there are numerous reasons as to how my interest in nursing came about and what makes me strive towards a possible future in nursing. For instance, like most individuals interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field, I love helping people. Not only people, but specifically babies. I relish the idea of being able to take care of newborns. The thought of being able to nourish and nurture a premature infant back to health, and helping make mothers feel at ease brings me joy. To me nursing is essential because there will always be someone in need.

Unfortunately, there are some “mothers to be”, that don’t necessarily deserve the privilege of being a mother due to mistreatment to themselves during, while or even after their pregnancies.There are also a lot of mothers that simply don’t want their newborns. Situations like those make me sick.
Throughout life, I have grown up watching them as well as listened to them about helping those in need and making an impact on one's life. Observing my mom is what kind of triggered the fire in me to research careers not only in nursing but in the healthcare field as well. Another little push in getting me to think about nursing was volunteering and shadowing local healthcare professionals , which in the end opened my eyes even more to the endless possibilities as to how a nurse could help others. Pursuing a career in nursing can really help distinguish what it means to help people as well as educate me personally in other areas that could be both beneficial and rewarding in the future. In the end, I aspire to absorb as much information and hands on training as possible so that I will be well equipt and ready for real world
