Canada has been through a lot of struggles to become the country it is today. It had specifically had a lot of defining moments in the 20th century. Canada had taken part in a lot of wars and lost many people in the wars they fought. But the wars they fought had defined who they were in a country and how they dealt with it. Each individual, family, business, or country all had defining moments that have shaped them into their current appearances and outcomes. During the development of a country, its people are fortified by many important events. These events are the "Defining Moments" which developed a country to what it is today. For Canada, their defining moments relate to military and war. Canada has given major military contributions in the Day of Deliverance, the battle of Vimy Ridge, and the Italian Campaign and in return has achieved respect, pride, and independence which are intangibles any nation aspires for. These events are what made Canada today, a strong, independent country with a lot of heart.…

As a Canadian I feel a great sense of pride in seeing our great and unified nation succeed in producing something dignified; be it an accomplishment such as the miraculous discovery of penicillin, the invention of the telephone, assisting thousands of fleeing slaves in their journeys through the underground railroad, and everything else we do as a nation to instill a sense of pride in ourselves, proving to the world we can do great things. Canada is responsible for a substantial number of inventions, innovations, and discoveries which allow us to lead the lives we possess. Unfortunately, simply due to the race of the individuals involved, not all great Canadian accomplishments get the recognition or appreciation…

WHY IS IT GREAT TO BE CANADIAN? Canada can be described as a cultural mosaic with kind people, a strong economy, great Prime Minister and social and legal equality, making it great to be Canadian. Predominantly, I believe it’s great to be Canadian due to our abundance of land and changes to it, our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and our growing multiculturalism. Primarily, Canada’s landmass and changes is behind its national success. The vastness of Canada supplies multiple natural resources, provides a home for thousands of immigrants and Canadians and even survived economic stagnation in the 80’s and 90’s.…

The symbol I have chosen to write about is the scroll with a list of people not allowed in Canada. The reason the scroll has nothing written down is an example of how tolerant we are to immigrants/refugees. Thus, Canada is one of the first places someone thinks about when it comes to a tolerant and well-rounded country. The reasons above demonstrate why Canada is so multicultural. This is why it’s a popular place to move to. In conclusion, Canada is seen as a country full of polite people (and maple syrup) because we’re extremely tolerant of other people and…

Yes, I agree with the United Nations about their decision to rank Canada as one of the best countries to live in. Canada is a wonderful place to live thanks to how diverse it is. This country is filled with people from different cultures and backgrounds, which is why it is sometimes called a ‘ cultural mosaic’. Being a cultural mosaic means that we allow every culture to keep their identity instead of telling them to conform to a certain way of life. The people…

Canada has long been regarded as a rich and democratic country that’s very well developed. The secret behind this is like the famous quote from history,“United we stand, divided we fall”. Canada has a government requiring all the provinces to contribute and each region has its own advantage and drawbacks. Together, we are able to cover each other’s weaknesses and improve as a Confederation.…

A large part of Canada’s identity specifically is diversity, it is so important for a country and communities to be diverse and culturally accepting. Seeing diversity portrayed in media encourage people and small and large communities of people to welcome new cultures and to shares theirs passions, religions, symbols, and foods. This is something that in Canada should be shown and demonstrated more frequently TV shows, ads, commercials, and movies. By showing it in media is making a statement that it is good and it is okay to be diverse; it is alright for different cultures to collaborate and share what they like. Unfortunately this isn’t necessarily shown as much as should be in our Western Culture.…

Canada’s multiculturalism, democratic system of government and healthcare system are my top three choices that make me proud to be Canadian. From all the countries in the west, Canada is the only country to rank in the top 20 most diverse and multicultural countries (Morin). Not to mention, Toronto which is a city located in Canada is the most ethnically diverse and multicultural city in the entire planet (Rouse). I am proud to have multiculturalism in Canada since it promotes diversity and demonstrates how people from all cultures can live together in peace and harmony. Multiculturalism is a marvelous way to meet new people and discover various traditions and cultures. Additionally, it brings new foods to savor, interesting cultural activities…

Many people came to Canada because they thought it was a country of opportunity to them. If you were to look into Canada’s history, you might say Canada was not a land of opportunity for all groups. Gender, race, religion and education were all very important aspects that shaped Canada’s history. These four categories weren’t respected and treated with care. This is why gender, race, religion and education are still a problem within our country today.…
