Explaining Relationships
A relationship is referred to as a correlation between two variables about the types of relationships; it could mean two things, the nature of the relationship or the nature of the relationship with the structure of it. For example; my nine year old son and the computer have been companions since he was four years old. The reason he and the computer are like companions is because he has been playing educational games, watches educational shows, and listens to music of his choice. The relationship between my son and the computer is a variable of the two. I say this because this kind of relationship can have different values. Meaning that the variable of this gender can consist of two values, like a human and an object. Another important difference in having to do with the term variable is the difference between an independent and dependent variable. This distinction is particularly relevant when investigating the cause and effect relationships. In this case, the boy and the computer would be a cause and effect relationship. Why? Because the boy is eager to learn through the processes of using the computer being the effect in the relationship. The computer when used, as a learning instrument assists in raisings the boy’s point of learning. Meaning, his speech and language areas, coordination, and learning morals and values from the movies that he watches that are educational. Even though his favorite ones are shows with heroes in it. He learns quickly from the computer and knows how to manipulate the programs to adjust to his way of learning new subjects. Even though some studies have focused on the physical and social development, within the use of computers and the negative effects. When a child spends too much time in front of the computer, it steals time from children that should be spent in interaction with their parents, siblings, and peers. There for, can lead to adverse effects in their social, cognitive and physical development (Carder and Miller, 2000; Traveras ed al, 2006 Waterella, Lee & Caplovitz, 2002). Computer need for training purposes contribute to cognitive development especially in terms of the concept of learning. Children that are affected positively or negatively from all kinds of role models, the usage of computer based websites games can be inappropriate for children and cause harmful behavioral issues. With guidance during the usage of computer time, it can be a rewarding learning experience (Bandura, Hayne, 1999; Meltzoff, 1988). The relationship between a child and the computer can be beneficial, like those who have learning difficulties in areas that make it difficult for them to see
