External Feedback Essay

One of the external feedbacks I gained was from my aunt, who has taught in high school in Korea for more than ten years as an English teacher. She has been guiding high schoolers for the official mock United Nation conference in Korea; thus, she provided good points on this lesson plan. First, she argues that one day lesson will not be applicable to achieve all the goals and objectives. This, she suggests to make this lesson plan to three to four-day-lesson or seminar, and set up a goal for each day. For instance, letting students to find the factual timeline of the racism in Missouri and researching and choosing the news articles they would like to represent on their own will promote their self-regulative skills more than providing a lecture. While students are doing researches on this issues in the computer lab, teachers will roam around and guide and supports to be on the right track. Also, she addresses that if teachers let students to find the topic before the class through vote, this lesson plan would be more beneficial for students to sustain their motivation during the lesson due to their interest in a such area.
If there is an actual event related to the American culture that can be interesting for students like the views on pop culture and its effect on the society, ELL students may actively participate more on the lesson because they will spend less time on understanding the concept itself. However, there can be diverse cultural and racial opinions on this matter, and even ELL students may face this cultural issues like racial discrimination, so I believe this topic has a strong
