According to USA TODAY, the NFL Players Association turned over Elliott’s phone records and other documents to league investigators earlier this month. This review seems to be one of the final steps in the league’s investigation of Elliott, and hopefully, the action will lead to a resolution prior to the start of the 2017-18 season.

What happened?

According to The MMQB, Elliott’s accuser claims she was abused several times by the Cowboys running back in 2016, including an incident when he pushed her, choked her, dragged her, threw her around and hit her “all over”. Elliott has never

It happens about 100 times a game in the National Football League: a bone-jarring tackle that slams a player to the turf. On the play shown in the photo above, Seattle Seahawks defensive back Marcus Trufant (23) drilled Philadelphia Eagles receiver Greg Lewis (83) with such force that Lewis couldn't hang on to the ball. (Seattle won the Dec. 5, 2005, game at Philadelphia 42-0 in the most lopsided shutout ever broadcast on Monday Night Football.) Incompletions and fumbles aren't the only consequences of such tackles. More than 100 concussions are recorded each season in the NFL. Given the size and speed of today's athletes, it's surprising that more gridiron warriors aren't carried off the field on their shields. For that, they can thank high-tech gear that protects them from the physics at play in the sport's fearsome collisions.…

Upon the release of partial video footage of the assault the NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, banned Rice for two games without pay and fined him $58,000. Many felt that this punishment was insufficient and this message was continued to be reinforced through constant media coverage on the matter. This then led to Goodell revising the league’s policy on assault, battery, domestic violence and sexual assault, instituting a six-game suspension for NFL personnel who violate the policy once, and a lifetime ban for those who do so twice. Although the revision seemed like a step in the right direction, what was to follow was like fuel to the fire for the media.…

Should we be surprised by his actions? Not I, even though we are dealing with a man who is probably the best wide receiver in the history of football, he has never been made to be accountable for his actions, before now. His previous teams, the media and even the fans have always looked the other way and of course T.O. has his publicist to help smooth things over and even apologize for him. Sounds to me like a case of "SHOW ME THE…

In previous years before technology was so readily accessible to near about everyone, the NFL basically took an out of sight, out of mind stance on domestic violence. They believed it to be a family matter that did not affect their organization and that it was none of their business. They took this point on the matter even though statistics showed that a good number of professional and collegiate athletes had been reported to the police for violent acts against women. The article states that in 1994 the Washington Post reported that in a 5-year span between 1989 to 1994, 140 violent acts against women were reported among these athletes. However, these occurrences were never big news stories for the media until the OJ Simpson case in 1994. Because of the media attention this case received, a closer look was taken at the crimes committed among professional football players. The most common crime committed was violent acts against women. The NFL continued to turn the other cheek to these facts, stating that it did not influence their business, and it was not their responsibility to discipline the players for acts committed off of the field. Therefore, players that had…

Like many of the millions of people that tune in for the NFL on Sunday, I used to find myself craving for the next big hit. I loved watching players like Ray Lewis and James Harrison smashing the receiver coming across the middle, or the running back trying to shoot through the line. It upset me when the National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell came down hard on players for hits that we all look forward to. I began to think and wonder why Goodell would want to try and limit the most electrifying aspects of the game. It wasn’t too…
