PROTECTIVE FACTORS
HEALTHY AND STABLE ATTACHMENTS
With regards to Emilio he did not have any attachment with anyone because he was always isolating himself from others. SELF-AWARENESS THEORY
In terms of Emilio’s case he was motivated to escape self-awareness because everything around him did not make sense. From his father passing on, living with his mother and how people behave whereas he is behaving in an opposite way. For coping he used ship out meaning that he withdraw from self-awareness because there was nothing to look forward to.
ATTITUDE
Emilio’s attitude was shaped through observing his father and mother trying to cope with everything. When he realised that his father passed on because of the divorce and also thinks that he can also be in the same situation like father did, then that caused him to have anger towards his mother not understanding why the divorce and thinks it is his mothers fault. He learned his attitude from his father because it is said that Emilio behaved the same way like his father.
