Fahrenheit 9/11 Analysis
The movie “Fahrenheit 9/11” by Michael Moore is based off the events before during and after 9/11. One of the biggest terrorist attacks America has seen and brought legislations such as the patriot act into effect single handily. On September 11, 2001 two planes were hijacked and crashed into the twin towers resulting in the deaths of thousands of Americans. This incident left a scar in the hearts of many Americans. The person who has taken a lot of the blame for this incident was the reigning president at the time, President George W. Bush. Fahrenheit 9/11 portrays Bush as one of the worst presidents America has seen due to the following reasons: he made many poor decisions during his presidency, a lot of his decisions were to personally benefit …show more content…
Bush used his power to support his biases and his colleagues. For instance, after 9/11 all air traffic was suspended in America, yet Bin Laden and his family were given clearance to fly out of the country for no specific reason. There were no replies from Bush to these accusations as he just allowed them to do this for no reason. Also, he released a report where he blacked out his colleague’s name for no reason regarding national security. But, it was likely to benefit his colleague and not shame him and his family for desertion. Which is him abusing his powers as president. Furthermore, 100’s of middle eastern people who flew into America were detained for questioning. This is racial profiling that he started as a result of 9/11. As Michael Moore believes a lot of them were detained due to Bush’s prejudice or bias. Funny enough, this is fallacy of single causation as although Michael Moore suggested that this was racial profiling, these people could have been under suspicion. Basically, Michael Moore believes a lot of these decisions are examples of Bush abusing his power.

In conclusion, Bush was a bad president due to his poor decisions, his corrupt ways, and his abuse of power. Michael Moore has shown how bad of a president Bush actually was. With a man as carefree, careless, and reckless as Bush it is no wonder America hit such turmoil under him. George Bush will go down as one the worst presidents to ever reign in the United

    1. The strong point of the movie is that it shows the parallel worlds of Lana and her uncle Paul. They both are people who try to help the world be a better place and they both end up in horrible situations in two very important cities in the United States. Lana is in Los Angeles volunteering at a Christian homeless shelter and Paul who is a Vietnam veteran tries to prevent Los Angeles from attacks just like 9/11. He suspects everyone who is of Arabic origin. They meet each other when a Pakistani gets brutally murdered. The best part of the movie is the well-assembled scenes, they are very dynamic, and that makes it that the two storylines come together so nicely. The Paul’s character is very tragic, he has suffered so much trauma in his life,…

The day of September 11th, 2001 the world witnessed with disbelief as the World Trade Center in New York City came crashing down. The shock the attacks generated and the some 3,000 or more people it killed made it one of the brutal attacks in history. One may only wonder how such a grand scaled attack could be carried through. Although controversial, evidence suggests that the September 11th attacks in 2001 were an inside job and the statements of the Bush administration following them were a fabricated truth that many people believed. Unfortunately the tragic event has scarred the lives of many people globally and changed the course of the near future.[1]…

President George W. Bush's 9/11 address to America and the rest of the world is one of the most thought provoking and important speeches in history. On September 11, 2001, America was attacked by the Al-Qaeda which is a terrorist group in the middle east. They hijacked our planes and crashed two of them into the World Trade Center towers. Another crashed into the Pentagon and the fourth plane was headed to Washington, D.C., but crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after passengers tried to overtake the hijackers. This attack killed thousands of our U.S citizens and left fear in millions of people's hearts. Yet, President Bush’s purpose of the speech is to bring unity, a sense of peace, and at the same time a stern warning to the attackers of our great land.…

On September 11, 2001 at 8:46 am, a plane hit the twin towers in New York City; thus, causing an event that would kill 2,977 Americans. That first plane started the devastation of 9/11 and will forever mark a national tragedy. On 09/11/2001 four planes in three different locations were hijacked by terrorists and were used to attack America. At first this was looked at as a possible accident until the second plane crashed, it was clear in that moment that this was not an accident. President George Bush was alerted about this incident while at a Florida Elementary School, which caused him to go into immediate hiding. The events of 9/11 impacted the way America looks at society and terrorism. This is illustrated by the jarring events of the day and the reactions of Americans to this day.…

George Bush’s book, Decision Points, is a memoir of his experiences and decisions he made throughout his presidency. Bush chooses to highlight the most challenging and controversial issues in his presidency, and tries to shed some light on the events. Bush lays out two goals he wanted to accomplish in the book; the first being that he wants to “paint a picture of what it was like to serve as president for eight consequential years.” Secondly, he wants to “give readers a perspective on decision making in a complex environment.” He hopes that one day, Decision Points will be used as a historical resource for this time period, but for now, he hopes that it will help to clarify some questions or clear up controversy left in the wake of his presidency.…

Enter Charles Krauthammer, the author of, “The 9/11 “Overreaction”? Nonsense.” This charming essay on his version of the after effects of 9/11 in the US and his take on it was originally published in the Washington Post on September 8th, 2011, 3 days before the 10th anniversary of the fall of American communal trust. In it, he claims that the event was an eye opener, the act revealing to the general public that we, in terms of military and preparedness, were not prepared enough as a nation. It unleased “the massive and unrelenting American war on terror, a systematic worldwide campaign carried…

President Bush took responsibility for 9/11, even though he didn't have anything to really do to cause it. He took responsibility and he came to the conclusion that we must go to war. They didn't only attack our home soil, but killed thousands of innocent people. They were defenseless and unaware of what was happening. Either until after the plane(s) hit the towers or just before (when you saw the plane, planes, about to hit the towers). This wasn't only a "massacre" or some sort of an "invasion", but it was a historical moment. 9/11 was a date and a time where we were hit, for the first time, on our home soil. That was the first time we were attacked, we had to go to war.…

President George W. Bush did something very important that has marked the United States hisorty. On March 19, 2003 he announced that war against Iraq had begun. In the primary document : Bush Declares War, the President gives a brief explaintion to the country into why he declared war with Iraq. He begain his justification for the war by explaining to all fellow citizens so everyone was aware. He started off by saying that the "country was in the early stages of military operations to disarm Iraq , to free its people and to defend the world from grave danger". In other words, not to cause harm but to actually defend us.…

When President Bush first came into office his approval rating was up to 90% in 2001 and it dropped all the way to 25% in 2008. The reason Bush’s approval rating dropped so much is mostly because of the way he handled the war in Iraq and they way he handled the hurricane Katrina efforts. The decision to invade Iraq may be the most controversial moment in Bush’s presidency. The war drastically made the United States weaker and much poorer. The war was predicted to cost around 50-60 billion dollars, but that number is up to 2.2 trillion dollars and still rising because of interest payments. The two main goals for the war in Iraq was to eliminate two things: Al Qaeda and any weapons of mass destruction. Neither of those things could be found in that country. Perhaps the only good thing to come out of that war was the killing of Saddam Hussein. The war also took a toll on the troops. Over 31,000 U.S. soldiers have been wounded in Iraq and the cost of providing medical care to veterans has been doubled because of this, making it difficult to provide for the ones who served. The way bush handled the travesty of hurricane Katrina was highly criticized. The failure of the government to respond effectively to the hurricane was perhaps Bush’s biggest setback as president. Howard Dean, outgoing chairman of the Democratic National Committee says, “Before Katrina, everyone, including America’s friends and enemies, believed if something awful happened in the world, you could call in the Americans and they’d fix it”. The way the government responded in delayed fashion to the hurricane killed that assumption. Kenneth Walsh of U.S. news stated, “Bush seemed slow off the mark as millions of people suffered, and he created a lasting image of isolation when the White House released photos of him, a solitary figure in his cushy seat, looking out a window on Marine One at the hurricane devastation far below”.…

Every president to be must tweak the truth of where they stand on certain topics of interest, creating a false sense of security which later makes us insecure as a country. Despite the fact that our government assured us that there was "no risk" America would lose its AAA credit rating, America did indeed lose its rating for the first time since 1917 because of our president’s refusal to cut spending. Election Day for our president, with his soon to be half fulfilled promises to better this country and the world, is a memorable example of our president acting untrustworthy. Never before in the history of our country has one party pushed through a massive entitlement program that was wildly unpopular with the American people, the Affordable Health Care Act. This year’s convention where the president makes unreliable statements about what he has or has not accomplished is another example. The recent speeches on foreign policy and national security provide extensional evidence of how trustless our president is to us. Putting a man on the moon is one of America's greatest accomplishments and our Space Shuttle program was ended, under our current president. When a U.S. president wants to be reelected to office, he must rethink his first set of unfulfilled promises and decide which to change and which to…

Since entering the market in 2005, Dr.Scholls® insoles For HerTM was created to ease the discomfort many women experience from their shoes, specifically high heels. The product was originally intended to focus on older women who suffered from foot problems. Only recently has the For HerTM line been shifted to attract the younger demographics (ages 18-50). The types of women who will purchase products from the Dr. Scholl’s® For HerTM line tend to be women who are into the latest shoe fashions and are attracted to a variety of styles. The past 5 years, the women’s shoe industry has seen an increase in sky-high heels. Designers are adding more inches to many of their high heels. Sky-high heels are generally tended to attract women of a younger demographic (ages 18-35). Although these sky-highs are the latest trend, many of these shoes lack comfort. Not to mention the medical implications that can surface from wearing them for long periods of time. Many women, especially younger women, who enjoy purchasing fashionable shoes, will sacrifice comfort just for style. Increasing the awareness of this product will give women the opportunity to wear their shoes longer without discomfort. While it is said that higher price does not always guarantee quality, when it comes to women’s shoes many times the more expensive shoe brands are in fact more comfortable that those shoes on the cheaper end. Young women between the ages of 18 to 35 find themselves either in college or beginning their careers. Which means that they may not be able purchase the more expensive brands. Many young women find themselves shopping at lower priced shoe stores like Traffic and Forever XXI. These shoes although fashionable lack quality and comfort. For HerTM insoles would be the perfect solution for the younger female generation.…

    The Mandate of the People

President George W. Bush, having been issued a mandate by the people of the United States to bring freedom and democracy to the world and to continue to competently function as the Commander in Chief of the military, is using his political capital to institute a regime of Faith Based Initiatives that are unconstitutional and tear at the very fabric of freedom and democracy in America. The precedent was set long ago that would set the American citizenry on a course to make the Presidential election of 2004 about the war in Iraq; present-day American voters followed in the footstep of hundreds of millions of previous voters by re-electing their "war-time President". George Washington was the first to be re-elected during war time and not a single president since has lost a re-election campaign while his nation's sons and daughters were in combat. The expansive agenda of this president, who won the office by the narrowest of margins, is not indicative of the sentiments of the American people. George W. Bush wants to put in place legislation that fundamentally undermines the ideals on which this nation was founded. While he sends our citizens overseas to bring western ideals to non-democratic nations, the President has stated a desire to institute programs and laws in this country which will ultimately restrict American freedom and pull at the underpinnings of this democracy.…
