Failure might be one of the first things we learn in life. As babies, we try to go from crawling to walking but before we walk we have to fall a few times. At the end of the day we learn to walk, skip, jump, and much more. Failing is natural; everyone does it. You have to fail to learn how to better yourself to avoid failure again. Failure can be avoided at times, but for the most part it is unavoidable. I have learned allot from my failure in basketball. It shows me what I need to improve on, what i need to stop or start doing, and what i should do differently. Failure is a huge help when you want to be better at anything you do.

A Lot of athletes fall in love with the sport they play or it might be their only way of finding peace it also could be there job. Some injuries can mentally weaken an athlete which can also physically weaken them. In my research an article I read by Margot Putukian reads “ For some student athletes, the psychological response to injury can trigger or unmask serious mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, disordered eating, and substance use or abuse”.(8)These things can cause an athlete to be unsuitable to perform once the injury gets better. Michael Jordan is known to be an all time great basketball player was cut from his high school basketball team(9). Babe Ruth is known for his home run record 714, but also held the record for the most strikeouts(9). Coach Tom Laundy is known as the best coach in NFL history, he has 2 super bowl victories, and five NCF championship victories but still holds the record for most career wins. Tom Landry also is known for having one of the worst first seasons on record(9). Including myself I didn't win my high school playoffs last year, and i never made the all star team either, but I have had basketball scouts from D1 colleges show interest in me and now i plan to play NCAA basketball for Maryland Eastern Shore. Failure is something you want to happen failure gives you the hunger to succeed.

Failure Is useful to to more than just athletes. Prove people wrong learn from your failure and be great. Thomas Edison's teachers told him he was "too stupid to learn anything."
Edison went on to hold more than 1,000 patents and invented some world changing devices , like the phonograph, practical electrical lamp, and a movie
