Fallen: A Narrative Fiction
Lola tried to make sense of what was happening, to connect to something she had lost so long ago. Somewhere in her mind had to be the answer, like some hidden part of her that knew what this all meant. But it was like wondering around a room she should know while blind. She knew somewhere was the answer, but she just couldn't see where. So she was left fumbling about for what was right or wrong.

"I don't even know what it means to be a fox anymore." she finally admitted her eyes looking down to his chest as she hid beneath her hair. "I don't know anything about myself or what I am." Lola felt the shame and sadness of her past nagging at her as they spoke. She only had a few years to recall or pull information from. And those years had been spent as a sex toy not a fox. It was than Lola realized she had simply fallen back to being that, and now she was sitting locked and forcing a sweet boy to have to claim her.

Each small movement felt amazing, yet all too much all at the same time. "I'm so....sorry...ah..." she bit her lower lip as Fallen gripped her hips and forced her to be still. She felt totally guilty for enjoying the way he felt within her body. But she couldn't help how her body reacted to him. Even after her orgasm Lola ached in a way she had never felt before. "Feel...I feel...I feel you." she shivered once more unable to look him in the eyes. "I don't knowah, how to ah...explain it." Lola shook her head knowing she wasn't making any sense. But how was she supposed to tell him what was happening when she had never felt anything like it

All Feather wanted was for Maddy to be happy, and the only way that was possible was to free her from herself by leaving her and letting her go. Maddy had thought that because of all the times he crept off to the beach, and to be with just the water and sand, that "Feather didn't care" about her, but it was not her, it was that Maddy was "less important than this strange, mysterious summoning thing". Feather knew he couldn’t change his lifestyle to live with Maddy, and if he didn’t, he would continue to hurt her inside. The only way to satisfy them both was to leave. It was not the fact that Feather could not change for Maddy, but that he could not change enough for Maddy. Feather is willing to do anything for Maddy to “make her happy”. Even when he says that “it makes no difference” to him, it actually does, and he knows that if he does “move to the desert” with Maddy, they won’t be able to live happily together because of Feathers urge to get back to his old life. Maddy was holding Feather back by making him more civilized and changing him to be the opposite of the person she fell in love with. After living with Feather for quite a while, Maddy “still called him Feather, but it was easy to forget why” because of the new clothes she made him wear and his hair was washed and looked smart, and he had just lost the “strange smoky…

After reading, Governing Immigration Through Crime and The Devil’s Highway: A True Story, I have developed a better understanding of the relationship between immigration and crime. Personally, many of my sentiments towards immigration has been quite underdeveloped and lacking sustenance to support my claims. Moreover, this paper will analyze three concepts discussed Governing Immigration Through Crime while using material from The Devil’s Highway: A True Story to support the perspectives presented by each theme. Tom wondered for what seemed to be the millionth time why Dectives were required to dress like wall-street bankers or stock analysts. At least that was the expectation in public, however the moment he had the office to himself, he unknotted his tie, slipped off the linen suit jacket, and undid the top button of his shirt, then sat back in his chair, raised his eyes to the ceiling, and tapped the tip of a ballpoint pen against his teeth. That was Tom's usual mode of concentration and contemplation, and so intent was the man's focus on the new case that all else slipped from his mind, even the recollection that he'd texted his wife. Therefore, the sudden familiar sound of her voice, accompanied by the enticing aroma of barbecue, startled him, and he immediately shot upright. The sight of Lila elicited a smile that only widened with the greeting and kiss. "Sorry baby."…

Fallen Angels, a story about a soldier experiencing the Vietnam War, has a relatable story do to the conflicts many of the characters faced. Perry, a Vietnam Soldier, had those impositions and there are reasons why they are problematic. One of those issues was when after Jenkins was dead, Perry was in shock of what happened while the other soldiers take care of the body as usual. In the story, the army was heading there way to fight off the enemy in Vietnam until Jenkins stepped on a landmine that killed him, so the other soldiers placed the corpse in the bag, and Sergeant Simpson and Lieutenant Carroll use the body bag as a stool for their feet as everyone went back to the hooch angering Perry. It’s easy to see why this character is acting…

I think one point Fox is trying to make through this story can be summed up in that one phrase. Throughout the story it appears the characters are unaware of their actions and how it plays into the outcomes, they are even oblivious to the actions of those around them. “Don’t pay much attention to what people say. Then, someday, you’ll find out what you think yourself. Try to go to what is new as innocently as you can — let the surprise of it take you first,”(Fox, 37). What the reader can sense and what the characters of the story portray and different. For example I had an uncanny feeling that Nina and Len were lovers, the clues were there for the taking. In the end of the story when Helen finds out Len and Nina were lovers she is shocked and amazed. The innocents of her youth opened and the maturity of life allowed her to see what was had really occurred and how she played into it. Hence supporting the fact that people are unknown to themselves. I once had to take a seminar about the inner self awareness. The speaker used a window and divided into four panes much like child draw, and stated our “selves” are like windows. In one pane is what I know and others know about me, the next what others know about me that I am unaware of, the next is what I know about myself that others do not and finally what I am aware about myself as well as others. In order to truly grown in self-awareness we need to make the window…

The Chosen by Chaim Potok is often described by critics as a distinctly American novel. I would have to say that I am definitely in agreement with this statement because the novel has a large emphasis on the concept of the American Dream throughout the duration of the story. That is the belief that in America one can pursue his or her dreams, whatever they may be, without regard to background or culture. Both Reuven and Danny reflect this ideal in their behaviors and action.…
