Ngunguru is a coastal community in Northland, New Zealand. Whangarei is twenty six kilometres to the south west. The Ngunguru River flows between the main community and a long sandspit into Ngunguru Bay. Last season alone there were one hundred plus marlin weigh at the tutukaka game base. The poor knights only twenty two kilometres off shore from ngunguru is rated one of the best dive locations in New Zealand. So when you live in Ngunguru you have the opportunity to explore these places and maybe even land a marlin for the first time.
My last reason is the wonderful estuary a five minute walk from any house in ngunguru, the estuary is full of sea life and is right on your doorstep. At low tide you can swim or paddle of to the sand banks to get pipes, high tide you can go up or down the river to set mullet or flounder nets.
